| The Kinks – Picture Book Lyrics

Uh, right. That's why it's ironic. This song is about disliking pictures, in a backhanded way. So it's a "great ad campaign" that HP is using it? That depends on how you look at things. I don't think the song is hurt by the move, but it's sort of silly. |

It's pretty funny because Fat Mike is now a vegetarian, as are other band members. You'd definately call him a "peace punk" too. He grew up, became a little more socially conscious. That's a good thing. |

Ugh, these lyrics I posted are a little off at points. That'll teach me not to copy and paste from someone else. If anyone has the correct ones, please post them.
Wonderful song, by the way. |

Fat Mike is a billionaire, you say? A billion? Did your dad tell you that? Don't be an idiot. |

| Earth Crisis – Firestorm Lyrics

I like Propagandhi's song about this song and Earth Crisis. It's called "Firestorm, My Ass":
heard a song and i counted out loud the two-steps, the goose-steps back. back from square one, from where we'd just begun, and then it rang a bell-but is this kristallnacht or what the fuck is your plan? would you care to expand? and i don't deny the choice, but I defy you as the voice of anything i've stood for in these past 9 years, i've conquered the nurturing and found that anything worth conquering is powered, built and backed by fear, not by fact. and having said that... meat is still murder. dairy is still rape. and i'm still as stupid as anyone, but i know my mistakes. i have recognized one form of oppression, now i recognize the rest. and life's too short to make another's shorter. |

| Anti-Flag – 911 For Peace Lyrics

The song 'kill the rich' was recorded in their earlier "angry punk" stage. Since then they've become a lot more. uh, constructive. I don't think it's quite valid to call anti-flag hypocrites, or whatever you were alluding. |

| The Smiths – Frankly, Mr. Shankly Lyrics

Actually, this song is a bit of a tribute to the book "Billy Liar" by Keith Waterhouse, like the song Billy Liar by the Decemberists.
Check it out. It's very good. |

| Dead Kennedys – Chickenshit Conformist Lyrics

The song is not talking about rap with the racist/queerbashing line. He's referring to the famous violent New York skinhead bands of that era. The modern day equivalent is obviously bands like Floorpunch and Throwdown.
Punk is thinking for yourself. |
