you people are stupid, just because they were on LSD at the time doesn't mean this song has to be about it. which it really isn't. this is just the sort of psychedelic stuff a lot of people were writing at the time. sure, this song and, um, EVERYTHING ELSE was INFLUENCED by LSD, but this song is just some stuff that John thought he'd write about a picture his son drew in art class. and i've seen the picture. so shut up. |

I think Morrison switches between referring to the city like it is a woman he loves to actually talking about a woman in LA he loves shows how he feels they are one and the same. |

underoath_55:
i think the "mother's eyes" is a reference to paul's She's Leaving Home on sgt. pepper, when her daughter left the house. (some twisted crazy thing: john's the daughter?)
"pretty face" is probably a reference to Paul being the "cute beatle"
personally, this song is quite depressing in some ways (seeing as it's just insults put to music), but I think it's kind of cute. because john must really have loved paul to get so ANGRY and write something like this. aww. |

best bass EVER
john entwistle is the best ever.
die hilary duff... die... i also read that she (er, not her, some big person who does her thinking for her) changed the words to "hope i don't die before i get old." let's not offend people now. |

well there was this poem about strider that starts "all that glitters is not gold" and the beginning lyrics for this song are "there's a lady who's sure/all that giltters is gold" really reminded me of it |

| Led Zeppelin – Ramble On Lyrics

i think that zeppelin took some obvious refs to lotr and then just changed a few things.
"Leaves are falling all around, It's time I was on my way." Frodo left the Shire in Autumn.
'Mine's a tale that can't be told," reminds me of how Frodo had to keep the ring secret for a while.
"T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair." i think this is about when the Ring was made, but i suppose plant or page changed the ring to a girl.
"But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her" maybe about how gollum ended up with the ring for awhile. or maybe they were feeling really strange and they thought that gollum would run away with their girlfriend. |

the beginning line of this song is "there's a lady who's sure/all that glitters is gold" and I heard somewhere that they liked Lord of the Rings. In that book, there is a poem that starts out "all that giltters is not gold." just wondering if anyone else saw that. |

| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics

1. rock opera! ha! concept album! HA! just something for this loser band to make some more money off of while spreading anti-americanism to little kids. listen to Tommy for a REAL rock opera. all you sellout lovers probably haven't heard of it, though.
2. bush is not a terrorist. he is fighting the terrorists in iraq. we got rid of a dictator who killed more people than this war will kill.
3. it took so long for the stupid UN to organise weapons inspections that hussein obviously got rid of all his WMDs.
4. "About wanting to be different from the political zombies of the government and forming his own opinion." ya im sure green day made up hating bush for no reason all by themselves.
5. the people who agree with bush are no more of "zombies" than those who don't.
6. the reason we don't hear about afghanistan anymore is because they have a working democracy.
7. iraqi "insurgents" (terrorists) are supposed to be the anti-americans. they don't want another democracy anywhere. and they don't want bush who is trying to create that democracy to win the war on terror. those who don't want the us to win the war against iraq (its not really even iraq. terrorists are going there to fight the democracy) are terrorists just like them.
8. just because bush started a war that killed some of our troops doesn't mean he's a terrorist or a bad person. if we win the war on terror, we will have prevented the deaths of countless more people from terrorist attacks, and in the case of iraq, hussein who killed thousands of people.
9. in case you didn't know, the UN is full of terrorist countries like syria who also hope for the destruction of the united states.
10. the US does not want to take over the world. we want to help countries whose people are troubled by giving them a democratic government.
11. if you hate america shut up and go live in canada. |

i think this song is really goodl i remember reading that they slowed it down and did some other stuff to make it sound ghosty and scary after they recorded it. i think it's good that way. venusinfurs is just retarded. how is george "pop?" i don't think any of george's songs are pop. he was the first person to use the sitar or something. if they are pop, he INVENTED it and it went downhill after the beatles. |

what's i am sam?
anyway, IanoDublin, how does this song make you "laugh out loud?" it's one of the most beautiful songs. and it would only sound like george to someone stupid who doesn't really know the beatles really well. at least that's what i think. it doesn't even sound like george, the singing voice i mean. the singing is beautiful too. all beatles covers suck, no matter what. i don't think anyone besides a beatle could tell really what the song was about and the emotions behind it. |
