What a cool song... It's about how twisted love is nowdays. I read an interview with Aaron, and he said the first verse is about a girl, who went to his church, that got pregnant. He said she was excommunicated and all, and the only true love in the situation was the love the girl had for her child. Really cool... Aaron is my hero, lol. |

I love Copeland's lyrics. Aaron doesn't try to be fancy and write things that no one can understand. He writes what he feels, and it's so simple yet so deep and meaningful. |

"She said that I was the brightest little firefly in her jar."
I love that line... In fact, I've been using it, lol. |

Wow.. Such an amazing song. I'm not sure if this is the actual meaning of the song, but this is what it means to me personally, and I think that's more important. It's about a relationship that he really wants to push to a new level, but the girl is having her doubts about it. It's about the things people go through when entering a new relationship and how you learn from your mistakes:
"Every move we make
Will trigger another.
And every small mistake
Will be a messenger..."
Like I said, I may be a little off, but that's what the song means to me because I can really relate to that message right now. |

Yes... He is an amazing writer, and the chorus of this song is what grabs me every time as well. It's amazing! But I think the song is about his losing understanding of life and falling into deep holes (metaphorically speaking)... While he's lost in the sea of change, God is the only branch within his reach to pull him back to shore (understanding). This song is all about the metaphor that life is a sea, and currents will come along. But God will always be the branch to pull us back into place when the current causes us to "disappear... with no control." |

Yeah, this song is about Aaron Marsh's grandmother. He wrote it for her and performed it at her funeral, and it got included on the CD. Very cool. |

When I'm confused about a song, I come here... my source for song meanings (thus the website name, songmeanings.net). After arriving at my destination, all I see if the same comment repeated over and over about how Underoath is totally different now. If you're going to say something, post something worth a person's reading, and try to stay with the purpose of the website. Gah, 25 messages that are all a waste of my time. |

| Northstar – To My Better Angel Lyrics

I think that this song means all of the above with a few additions. It's definitely about a failing and broken relationship, but I think it has to do with a failing relationship in which the girl is starting new relationships and slowly forgetting about the guy. I don't think it even neccessarily has to be a girlfriend (it probably is though). These are the lines that suggest this meaning:
"Eight feet undercover, don’t forget that I'm here
Warm secrets under covers with new friends
and your holiday lovers"
I don't know though. As it is with most Northstar songs, it's probably dealing with a lot of different things. |
