Huge music fan. Heavy metal, hard rock, classic rock, pretty much everything. Getting mellower with age.
| The Rolling Stones – Black Limousine Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| @[pt:39037] yeah I think it's about Keith spiralling on smack. | |
| Stone Temple Pilots – Still Remains Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| Certainly a song of love with some trippy vibes (pick a flower, hold your breath and drift away) and imagery (dragon flies) in there. Going through a separation and it makes me think of lost love a little bit. Having something, then it's gone. Just a great song, overall and the lyrics are very good, too. | |
| Jim Croce – Operator (That's Not the Way It Feels) Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| @[codecav:25087] Excellent analysis of a great song. I'm trying to get to the last verse right now as my ex and I go through separation. | |
| Fleetwood Mac – Songbird Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| @[josie713sg:24840] I also think of it as a breakup song, but one where she's wishing her ex all love in the world. There's no sadness, no anger. Only love and best wishes for that person. | |
| Devin Townsend – Offer Your Light Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| FIrst of all, just an amazing song. Amazing. Lyrically, it's about expressing yourself when you're feeling angry or worried. Don't hold it it. Talk about it, offer your light and it will make you feel better. And in a way, you rise about the anger and worry when you talk about it. You transcend it. | |
| Soundgarden – Mailman Lyrics | 8 years ago |
|
It's actually about that loser at work who snaps and decides to kill his co-worker, specifically his boss. As Cornell said about it: "This next one is about killing your boss. It's about coming to work early one morning cause you have a special agenda and you're going to shoot him in the fucking head." Delivering the mail, so to speak. |

| Alice in Chains – Junkhead Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| Taken on it's own, this song is pro drug. I've never heard a song screaming (literally!!) the benefits of drugs like this one. There is no way to justify the lyrics as being anti-drug. Now, there are songs on Dirt that deal with the damage done by addiction, but taken on it's own, the lyrics to "Junkhead" are a celebration of getting high. You can't even read between the lines to find an anti-drug message in this song. | |
| Alice in Chains – Junkhead Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| @[horrorbusiness89:15482] This is a good, however, the line "Your life is empty and bare" is not about the user, rather it's about the hypocrite norm who only care about "money and status". Just wanted to point that out. | |
| Metallica – My Friend Of Misery Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| This might be about Lars Ulrich? Lord knows he loves to hear the sound of his own voice. Many big bands write lyrics about band members, so this may be one of those occasions where James is taking a shot at Lars. | |
| Soundgarden – Slaves & Bulldozers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This song is about SOundgarden getting ripped off by their record company and being naive when they signed their first big deal. Clearly Cornell is pissed as you can tell by the vocal performance. There's no more rides for free. Now I know why you've been taking. |

| The Cult – Rain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Sex for sure. Lyrics suggest it's about a woman who squirts when she has an orgasm: "Here she comes again." | |
| Alice in Chains – Angry Chair Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Outstanding insight. | |
| Guns N' Roses – 14 Years Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Agreed. One of the best GNR songs. | |
| Guns N' Roses – 14 Years Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| But the band hadn't been together for even close to 14 years when they wrote the song. | |
| Guns N' Roses – Sorry Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree with John Koutris. I had a sense it was about Slash but I'd love to hear Axl's comments on the song. | |
| The Rolling Stones – Rocks Off Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's not about sexual problems. He makes love to the dancer, right? Definitely about drugs and the heroin lifestyle Keef was living back then as allude to by ExileonMain. One of my top 5 Stones tracks of all time. |

| The Rolling Stones – Sway Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Haha. I always thought the chorus went: "It's just that needle eye that's got me in its sway." But I see it's "demon life". hmm. Doesn't sound like "demon life". |

| Foo Fighters – I'll Stick Around Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| One of the best Foo songs, period. IMO it's clearly about Courtney Love and how she'll eventually get her just desserts. It's a stretch but it may also hint that Dave thinks she killed Kurt and knows about it and when she's caught, he'll be free. | |
| The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It's a wicked stones song about heroin using a war metaphor. This was when the Stones really got into the hard stuff (drugs) and produced some of their best work. Thoughts? |
