| Rise Against – Broken English Lyrics

This isn't emo. It's positive. Posi-emo is completely paradoxical.
Of the five songs that have been my favorite on this record, this was one. |

| Time In Malta – All Said And Done Lyrics

I don't think they're truely rad tad mc-gee. I think they're more of a boring recreation of Shai Hulud, but not near as good. It's enjoyable, but if I want to listen to this, I'll put in a Shai Hulud record. |

| Mae – The Sun And The Moon Lyrics

this song is like an emo version of boy bands. with all the harmonizing and the piano and the fairly subtle drum machine and the sporadic little guitar parts, it's very reminiscent of MTV in 1997.
But a million times better. just slightly comperable. |

it's not desolate, alone and searching. although that's better lyrics than
"dancing on all these changes", which it is (read the cdbook lyrics, I'm not an asshole). |

so the orange I choked song version is almost correct. but no, you fail. the line that no one can get right is:
it's all a blur,
it's too dark to see
ain't it pretty the way it all streaks together at night? |

Haha, Alexisonfire (www.theonlybandever.com www.purevolume.com/alexisonfire) did an acoustic cover of this song life. Well, the guitar player did. It was wonderful. |

Has anyone noticed how this song and State of the Union by Rise Against are strikingly familiar? |

Anybody mention the retribution of existentialism? You're to blame for any choice you make. That's just a different view on it. You make your own choices. You're to blame for those choices. Apply it however you'd like. |

| Something Corporate – Konstantine Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
|
I don't get it. I listen to Franz Ferdinand and David Bowie and the Clash, the Shins, Eliott Smith, etc., and I don't get why this is so bad to you. Sure, the Doors wrote in a different lyrical style, but Something Corporate isn't constantly strung out on drugs. I can see the difference between good music and If U C Jordan or Punk Rock Princess, but this is much more mature than that. I like this, and that, and is it possible that a mainstream, american pop-emo band made a good song? This isn't so different from everything else. It all tells the same story, just in different styles (and lengths). Coldplay's 'the Scientist' isn't much different. the Clash had songs with three and four chords. Point being: your argument would hold true for Something Corporate's psuedo-punk songs like the ones mentioned, but this song, to me, is paralleled with good bands. |

| Senses Fail – Slow Dance Lyrics

Senses Fail was on Drive-Thru, no wonder there are 'poser' fans. I haven't heard the term 'poser' since I was a 12 year old skater just learning how to kickflip condescending upon everyone else that sucked worse than I did. You'll learn soon enough that the 'poser' fans won't last. And, they don't matter. Get over yourself, Senses Fail is too big to be concerned about 'poser' fans, because to someone, you're a poser fan too. |

this is definitely a good night driving song. I don't think I'd ask for the meaning. This is one of those songs that's different for everyone (that I know, at least) |

| Alexisonfire – A Dagger Through the Heart of St. Angeles Lyrics
| 21 years ago

its like polimotion (like political and emotion mixed) take it either way. the last line about self government kind of tipped me towards the political undertone of it, but there's also 'you stabbed me with that proverbial knife the day you said goodbye' |

| Alexisonfire – Pulmonary Archery Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
I'll guarantee you everyone is talking about the same video - them 'playing' in the house. The first time I saw it I couldn't take it seriously. They're so out of sync. The drummer is the only one that is almost possibly playing the song with the music. They're just thrashing around pretending to play. I love it now, but I can't take it seriously.
The line about little hope for the white man - that's not racist, The song can be taken many ways, but with that line it seems like 'the white man' that there is little hope for is the stereotype of upper-middle class America. Also, the term Kill Whitey!; the same premise. I saw my chemical romance with face to face. mcr sucked pretty bad - way too happy of music for how sad the dude looked. (yay for fashion core!)
Alexis is a good band. Especially the intro's. I have no idea what the song is about. There is the 1977 reference - could that be the '77 punk movement? Talking about how punk's dead? I'm guessing not but that's my stretch. Well, they're canadian and I'm too much of an arrogant american to know their history so it could be that too. Meh, whatever. |

I dont really like the lyrings, but without reading them they're not immediately understandable anyway. I really like the sound of it, the say hello, wave goodbye parts and how it's 9some minutes. |

I think this is the best song on the album. Then I listen to Say Hello, Wave Goodbye, and I think the same thing. Then I listen to Babylon II and I think it's the best. Well, it's one of the best songs on the album by far. By the way, the 'drum solo' at the end is synthed. Same with the whole of the drumming on the song. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing. I love it. Amazing song to quote to someone close to your heart. |

| Blink-182 – I'm Lost Without You Lyrics

Wow, they actually got out of Junior High.
Travis isn't using two drum sets. He double tracked the snare at the end. It's two parts, but one set.
I think if the first line wasn't what he was meaning out of the song, he wouldn't write it. I'd be lost without you fits the rythem just fine, so if he wanted to say that, he would have. |

| Matchbook Romance – Tiger Lily Lyrics

I saw them last night... when they played this song, he said he wrote it about a girl who broke up with him not too long ago. He said, "...but that's what love's all about, you know? It can make you feel like shit but it can also show you the best fucking things in life. Sing as loud as you can..."
Favorite line: And accept 'someday, somehow' as the words that we'll hang from. |

I know, I wonder what Portugal. The Man is going to sound like... It's horrible that they split, and their final show is here in Portland... but in a 21+ venue. Feels like an empty space is left without them.
I like ohpioneer's second evaluation.
Best song on the CD, in my opinion. |

AtarisRule: The Ataris aren't much different from Mest and Good Charlotte...
Good song though, it's too poppy for my general taste but Mest has always been one of those bands to listen to during the summer. I really like them though, surprisingly for their stylings, they're good. |

I like Foo Fighters better than Nirvana. Nirvana didn't do anything for me. They were way too depressing and slow for my liking, but this is really a great song, especially live. It's one of those songs that make you remember times you've had and add to memories. Like, when you hear this song you remember a really good time. |

I was wondering, since I don't have So Long, Astoria and I rarely listen to The Ataris, is this song acoustic on their full length? I have Punk Goes Acoustic (good cd) and, well, obviously it's acoustic, but I was wondering if it is acoustic on that too. |

I got the Plea For Peace v.3 cd (Take Action, as stated) for $4.50. it's the first song on the second cd. And Shai Hulud is on it so it's worth it. Just check out your local record stores and it will be a ton cheaper than at Music Millennium or whatever big chain is in your town. |

the last lines make it obvious its about rape. This is an awesome song, its hard to tell what its about unless you read into it, especially if there was not the last line. |
