I can't believe no one has commented on this song. My girlfriend and I are very far apart 90% of the time She lives in Germany and me in the states. This fits perfectly with our situation. i think that "free from town to town" could be "afraid from time to time" again, thats just how it sounds to me. i think this song is about that no distance between lovers can effect their feelings for each other. it is a beautiful song
It is a song about devotion. When we are far apart and times are hard, I won't run away. When things are tough and we are fighting, I will stay and work things out. That's what it says to me. Sometimes not running away is the hardest thing to do (or not do as the case may be) and it really shows how much you truely care to never give up hope.
