thank you, you have proved the point i have been desperatly trying to make. you are 15, probably a freshman in highschool. you haven't even taken any courses in government. social studies dosent count, and you certainly can't rely on the ignorant opinions of "punk" bands to give you viable information. please enlighten yourself, and read a book. i doubt you have ever read a political book. ones by republicans and democrats alike will give you much better information to base your opinion on.
australia is a great country, dont get me wrong. keep in mind though, that they have a democracy much like the United States, and are our ally and supporter on the Iraq war. if i had a choice to live in any other country besides america, i would also choose australia.
the "bullshit" that you have to put up with all comes from your parents my friend. your 15 and you can legally drop out of school and get a job at your age. you really wanna get crazy, go to court and have yourself emancipated. you probably dont know what that means, so go look it up if you feel so inclined.
the truth is, you can work your way around the US system if you really want to. but your just a lazy little child, so i know that you wont take the initiative. you would rather sit on your pre-pubescent ass and let your parents do everything for you while you sit and complain. it dosn't cost you any money or energy. i highly doubt that you will actually move to australia when your 18 anyway. good luck in school! |

i think that the song is about soulmates. it remindes me of so many different people, including myself. heres how it goes...some people are meant to be togeather, and no matter what, they will end up togeather. this song is about a couple like this seperating for some reason, but the person singing knows that its not really over. because next time around, it will be perfect. you guys are right, it is about breaking up, but that is only the first half of the meaning. the idea is that they will still be togeather, even if only in dreams (lovers while we sleep). it reminds me of the movie "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind". |

as far as iraq...we went about it just fine, we are lacking in an exit strategy. we didnt prepare for what would come after. even if it was for money, who cares? the world is better off without Saddam.
you shouldnt make such broad generalizations about "flag flyers" like you did. just because people love their country dosent mean they dont care about others. there are so many people who do good for people who need help, and many of them are just good hearted middle class americans who want to help people.

gee i just love it when big bands like this try to complain about money. same for the people who support them. when you go out and buy their cd or go to their concert what the hell do you think happens? THEY GET MONEY! and lots of it. they are a bunch of rich spoiled hippocrates, who put people down for their beliefs. they try to say that americans who are proud of their sucess are the ones who are wrong, but if this were true, how come america isnt over run by low life punks? they are a small delusional faction who think they are getting away with something by writing songs against their country when in reality nobody even cares what they have to say besides a bunch of 15 year olds who are trying super hard to be "rebellious". in the end, whether you make your millions through oil or music you are still making millions. their money isnt worth any more or any less than george bush's money. it comes from the same government, same factory, goes through the same mail, and back into the same economy. its almost sad how delusional they are. i bet these guys drive cars that run on OIL! same with all the people who agree with them. they complain about "war for oil" as they get in their big cars and drive to WORK where they make MONEY. i have nothing else to say. |
