i totally agree with sublincuvana. i actually heard this song before i heard "lady madonna," and when i did (hear lady madonna) i immediately thought of this song. the tune is almost exactly the same and its not just the rhyme but the actual lyrics (make ends meet/money all gone) |

i got a weird copy of this song off kazaa, and half is in some foreign language and half is in english. it's bizarre but sounds gorgeous. the only thing is, i can't tell what foreign language it's in. does anyone know anything about alternate versions of this song? |

i have a couple of guy friends who always say this is like their theme song. it's about a guy who is stuck forever as the "sweet guy friend." the girl he likes always has some new bf, and he likes her but she won't hook up with him because she says they're better as friends. girls always use that excuse. |

this song is about a nice girl who doesn't get noticed at all. she's going to finally stand up for hersef by taking a sick day and doing what she wants, not what she's supposed to. i really like the message, not letting other things get you down and living for yourself.

i love how their songs always have so many layers of meaning. like it could be about drugs, but the lyrics also make sense in other ways. i think its about being in a relationship where he's not sure what will happen but he wants to give it his best shot and make it work. |

i really like this song, i'm not sure why. i've heard people call it unnecessary (it's the last track on Welcome Interstate Managers) but i think it's a good closer, just him and a guitar. it's about a happy, settled couple and it has a nice soothing feel to it. |

i think the song is about a woman that this guy is in love with, and she's really unhappy with her life. it always makes me think of a small-town girl who wants more from life (wanting to be the queen) but doesn't know how to get it. her parents' jobs sound like jobs you'd find in a hick town (no offense to anyone) but her brother "made it" out of the town. i really like the suicide idea, i hadn't thought of that before but i can totally see it. |
