| Real Estate – Green Aisles Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Beautiful track... I think its "phone lines," not fog lights. | |
| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Today's Lesson Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
There are a few points in Dig Lazarus Dig album where the lyrics are very similar to those that would appear in Nick's book, the Death of Bunny Munro. I remember reading somewhere in the book about 'baby blasted mothers' and 'secret smiles in the corners of their mouths'... a few other ones I'm sure. anyways, there is a part in the book where the protagonist, Bunny, is checking out a young girl and thinking something along the lines "that she is completely naked underneath all her clothes." Not to give too much away, but the character Bunny is a pervert. He doesn't hesitate to check out and fantasize about very young girls, and dabbles in date rape drugs. The lines about "waking up from a dream," "waking up on the floor," "violated in our sleep,"hypnotized, bithced, pimped, told monstrous lies etc etc etc" the whole song basically, indicate that "MR SANDMAN" is doing some bad stuff. Obviously the fact that nick was writing this book would influence the lyrics, or maybe the other way around, but the song seems to be at least in part a song for mr. Bunny Munro. |

| Pink Floyd – The Trial Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I like how Roger throws back to his song "If" off of Atom Heart Mother. In "If" he sings "if I were a good man / I'd talk with you more often than I do." I always thought "you" referred to his mother for some reason (maybe Syd, actually, who knows). anyways in this track I think its Pink's mother that says "You should have talked to me more often than you did." more than coincidence i think. | |

| Pink Floyd – In the Flesh II Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| im sorry but youre retarded. ive run into other people that say, "hey this racist, they shouldnt be saying those things." Its a satire, he's singing out a character, from a different narrator, he's not Roger Waters. He's playing a bigot, its a concept album. | |
| Elliott Smith – Condor Ave. Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Yeah, I think it is about him, or the narrorator, getting into a fight or breaking up with his girlfriend, then she gets killed by a drunk driver (wish that car had never been discovered they took away the bottle and the hat he was under), and he tries to forget her and move on, but can't. |

| At the Drive-In – Speechless Lyrics | 21 years ago |

star slight, I think its Ben singing the "all those loney nights" verse. He was the bass player, who, as the legend goes, got kicked out of ATDI for apparentely forcing their friend Julio into suicide, which is also why he isn't credited on the album. Ben and Julio are also what "De-Loused in the Comatorium" by the Mars Volta is about. |

| Elliott Smith – Southern Belle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Yeah, it is about a husband who's abusive to his wife, Elliotts stepfather to his mother, specifically. Elliott really loved his mom, but seemed to absolutely despise his stepfather, who was abusive to him, and I'm guessing from this song, also abusive to his mom. | |
| The Mars Volta – Concertina Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Me thinks the "missing" lyrics are: "Suddenly dries up Sentencing valley Crown all the handshakes Syringe overflows" Pretty certain about the first and last lines, and the 3rd line, except for "crown"... beh |

| The Mars Volta – Ambuletz Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Creepy fuckin song. Pretty good, quite trippy. But I think Cerpin dies at the end of Appatatus, not at the end of Take the Veil. But who knows... interpreting this album is way to fucking hard and confusing. | |
| The Mars Volta – A Plague Upon Your Hissing Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think these are kind of wrong, may I? "Might I be the only MAJOR LEFT, to be left behind" or something like that.... "A pair of BALLISTAS, aiming a bomb" I think the "raise the dock" part is wrong, but I can't make it out either "Mass CALL off this plague" pretty certain about that one "No one's getting out Of the fetal CAMPS ALIVE The trenches have been flemming To take THEIR PROPER HEIGHTS Might it be the talons Sculpting a lantern jackal TOO LONG Let us nurse the vipers In the bosom of their sewers The debts follows They will swallow now" I don't know if these are right either, but I thought I'd give my input. |

| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| SHUT THE FUCK UP! People come here to read shit about the song. No wants to reads double posts about how you laugh a lot... christ. I know I'm being hypocritical by making a post that doesn't deal with the song, but its to make you stop posting every fucking thing that comes into your head. For the love of the band and this website, just shut up. And don't post about how I need to shut up, seriously. | |
| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| rhcprox.... count how many times you've said "I'm done arguing" or "I'm done debating." I'm not going to bother, but you've said it more then a few times. So keep bitching and stop saying it, or just shut the fuck up. Please choose the latter. | |
| Green Day – Jesus of Suburbia Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
rhcprox, billy and eminem would be pissed right now because of what you said "Bush won." But don't worry, seeing as how you supported a president who sent over a 1,000 American soldiers and god knows how many innocent iraqis to their death, fucked up the economy beyond repair and clearly lost all three debates to John Kerry, I wouldn't expect you to know what 'rambamslam' was clearly talking about. cock |

| Velvet Revolver – Set Me Free Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it sounds like he's saying "Montreal" at the end... but I really doubt he is | |
| Velvet Revolver – Dirty Little Thing Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Duff said this song is about Paris Hilton. I don't know if that was said by a joke, but it makes sense. Drugs, sex, a man thats "stealing your life"... sounds like Miss. Hilton. |
|
| Velvet Revolver – Fall To Pieces Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| At a concert he said its about his wife. He was at a rough part of his life, and his wife was going to leave him. She either came back to him, so he wrote the song, or he wrote the song so she came back to him... probably the first. Its just his ballad to her. | |
| At the Drive-In – Heliotrope Lyrics | 21 years ago |
