I LOVE this song. I found it on Limewire, and it's without a doubt the best song on the album. Having been born and raised in Brooklyn might have something to do with it, too. Anyway, there are always radio and television commercials, as well as billboards and signs, all over the city telling New Yorkers "If you see something, say something". They've been around since 9/11. The guys being from here, with Adam and Matt living in Brooklyn, I have a feeling it has something to do with that. |

She doesn't want, or need, him now, though, and she laughs in his face. In order to spite him she makes sure he sees her with her new boyfriend, and says that he could have been the one to put the huge smile on her face that she now has, but he gave her up. Then her boyfriend dumps her, and she's devestated at first. Then, when she finds out that he's already with another girl, she's gets very mad. She realizes that she was pushed to the side for no reason, and she wants to know if this new girl is as good as her. Then, at the end,she kind of taunts him- saying how he'll never be able to forget her and when she's with another guy and having an amazing time she hopes he feels as hurt and she did. Yea, like everyone says the song isn't ironic. Irony would be like...not just rain on your wedding day in general. It would have to be that the weather has been BEAUTIFUL for the past 2 months. You're thinking how great a time of the year you picked for your wedding. Then, your wedding day comes and it finally rains, after WEEKS and WEEKS of great weather. That's ironic. Not bringing an umbrella when it rains isn't ironic. Carrying and umbrella back and forth to and from work with you every single day and having the weather be beautiful for weeks and not needing it, and then the one day you forget it its pours, is ironic. This is a great song though,about coincidences. It makes you think about life and how often it can screw you over, lol! |

This is an amazing song, it really shows what she was going through. This song is, in fact, about her relationship with an older guy. She was 14 or 15, and he was around 30. The verses are about what he would say to her - that she shouldn't tell anyone about them although he "wishes" he could and that without him she wouldn't be successful or amount to anything. He made her feel self-conscious and as if she couldn't leave him. The chorus is her asking him how he could have treated her like that, knowing what he was doing was not only wrong but a crime, and just "forget" about what happened - the whole situation is "under rug swept". She's statiing that she honered his request for silence, but now she's realizing what happened was horrible and she feels strong, independent, and fearless enough to come out and tell him that she realizes what was going on the whole time and she's ready to finally move on - all while still respecting his decision and choices and not saying who exactly he is. |

I LOVE this song! It always reminds me of Corky Romano, haha! I LOVE when they say "It's no better to be safe than sorry", very true. Anyway, this song is one of my favorites. I love their voices and the beat. I think the song is about a guy who was kind of seeing a girl, but then he had to leave, for selfish reasons I think. He promises her he'll come back, but he doesn't. Then, when he finally does, he finds that she's either gone or no longer has any interest in him. He's telling her that he promised he'd come back, and even though it took a while, he's there now and he's gonna do all he can to get her back. It's a really cute song. |
