I agree with what FeyTH said. I hated how everyone gave Fiona so much shit for this title. YES, it is strangly long, but I wish more people would really read it all the way through, because it is SUCH a cool poem. "And remember that depth is the greatest of heights," is my favorite line. Fiona's not afraid to look inside herself, and she's not afraid to put it out there on the line for us all to see, either. |

For some strange reason, this is one of my favorite Lenny songs. I know it's about female robots and how the idea of love for most is degenerating but I still love it. The combo of Lenny's vocals, the futuristic-sounding instruments and the wacked lyrics just make it great. My favorite part of the song is when Lenny sings, "Black Velveteen don't give a damn, she'll do dishes." The way Lenny says dishes is funny. I have such superficial reasons for liking a song, I know. I hear some of the lyrics differently than they're listed here. I hear "bed machine" instead of "bad machine," and I also hear "Black Velveteen's cunt smells like strawberry cream" instead of "Black Velveteen's cat smells like strawberry kittens." Who knows, maybe I'm just perverted and hear what I wanna. :) |

When I first got Morning View, this was definitely my favorite song. The intro just sucks you in. Whooosh! Brandon's voice is very strong here. Guitar rifts are very engaging, too. This is the catchiest song on the album. I may get stoned by the villagers for saying this, but I think the lyrics to this one aren't as great as they could be. I love the whole message the song puts forth, but some of the lyrics make me roll my eyes. The whole frog thing, especially. Still a great song though. One of the best on the radio now. :) Great song to listen to in the early morning hours when you're all by yourself and feeling crummy. Warning injects energy into you and makes you want to get out there and DO something. |

This song is pure sunshine. And sometimes that's just what you need. There's no song out there that makes me feel as instantly happy as this one. I know that's hard to understand, but, hey. As to what the song means? Oh fuck, who cares? :o) It's obvious - live your damn life before God takes it away from you and cherish all those close to you. Yes, it's simple, but it's best that way. The version that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the united states (and all over the world, too) has heard (Middle of Nowhere CD version) is my least fave version of the song. I like the version from Three Car Garage the best, where Taylor was maybe, oh, 11. Think the boy sounded like a girl? Heh, you'll have fun with that version. But anyway. That version is so vibrant and pure. Sunshine. |
