Rachael Yamagata did an interview for Woman Rock and had this to say about this song:
"Every now and then you’re on stage and your mind wanders and you can think of it from their eyes or you find a different meaning, like “Reason Why.” I wrote it kind of about this group dynamic, a business relationship really. Everyone thinks it’s a love song, so every now and then I’ll play it and dedicate it to somebody." |

I saw them in concert and they explained this song. Daniel explained how when he was in 9th grade he was thrift store shopping with his dad and his friend Jessica. Jessica found a a blue shirt which read, 'in search of 1988.' they fought over it, and she ended up with it. In December of 1998, Jessica returned home from college and gave him the shirt as a Christmas gift. It got him thinking of the easier times, early high school. Then thought about the year shown on the shirt, 1988, and got even sappier thinking about how much easier things were when he was younger. |

Dash owns me.... how can you not know who Further Seems Forever is? If you are a big dash fan then you would know that Further Seems Forever is the band Chris Carraba was in before he started Dashboard. But then he wanted to show his more emotional side and kick it with an acoustic.....Anyways, maybe that explains why FSF are such big fans. |
