The movie was based on the book, my mistake. I am not as familiar with new Misfits as I am pre-1983. Although, I have no problem with either. |

I disagree, if you've seen Horror Hotel, there's nothing about room 21 or anything the song refers to. |

i like the music, don't get me wrong. but it's SO damn depressing. now i'm a very outgoing, happy person but i swear, every time i listen, i have the inescapable feeling that i want to collapse in sobs. even this song-- it's supposed to be happy but still i want to cry my eyes out. |

One more thing.
"Fighting and arguing over the internet is like the Special Olympics. Whether you win or lose you both come out retarded." |

Now I am extremely openminded and I understand how this song may be thought of as a declaration of faith and something else of a symbolic nature.
Furthermore, I feel the need to clarify this point. Thrice states themselves that they do not wish to be labeled a Christian band due to the limitations that the title may retain. However, the band members all practice Christianity. And therefore, it becomes apparent that (since Thrice writes their own music) the songs that seem to speak of faith may possibly be interpreted in that way.
If need any more closure or disagree, see for yourself at thrice.net and ask the band themselves.
Also, I would like to say that I was greatly offended by the comment and generalization that Christians are always trying to say that everything is always about God. That is completely untrue and I am saddened by your ignorance and disrespect for opinion. |

Before someone jumps all over this let me clarify before someone else does. I agree with RedDeath. And although Thrice does not want to be labeled a Christian band due to the limitations that the title may retain, they all practice Christianity. Therefore it becomes apparent that the songs that talk of faith can be interpreted in that way.

If anyone noticed that part where he states "My whole life is a dark room... One big dark room." was taken from the movie Beetle Juice. The daughter, Lydia, says it to her parents. |

In my lit class we've been reading about the Holocaust for about 2 weeks. This morning as I was getting ready and listening to my Thrice CD, the song kinda reminded be of the book I'd just finished, Night by Elie Wiesel. It recounts this man's experience in concentration camps. This song reminds me of the many references throughout the book about the crematory, the fires, the shootings, and the threat of he and his father rising from the chimneys with the others. And also of his hope of getting out soon and how they were "one step closer all the time" to liberation. It may not be what the song was intended but for some reason it reminded me of that. |
