  • The rain continues falling...

by nuclearnatalie on June 30, 2008
It's been raining all day since I've woken up pretty much. The lightning was getting bad also. I had a few flashes strike near my house and the thunder was incredibly loud. It gave me goosebumps. As of right now, it's only sprinkling a bit here and there. Hopefully the weather won't affect my mother's incoming flight from Miami. However, it did affect my soccer practice & it was canceled today :) Other than that, I just basically watched an old 1986 Hayao Miyazaki movie called Castle in the Sky. It's like anime, and it's a bit hypocritical of me to watch anime because I'm not a big fan...nonetheless it's a great movie! Then I baked brownies for my mother when she comes back today. Hopefully Eddie can come with us to the airport or something. Ha. My sister's calling for the computer once again. It's getting quite annoying.

  • Spain won the Euro Cup 2008!

by nuclearnatalie on June 29, 2008
Ahh sweet victory, well deserved victory. Spain hasn't won the Euro in forty-four years! I'm so happy for them right now, every single one of them deserved this win. And Fernando Torres is like, a legend now while Iker Casillas becomes the world's greatest goal keeper. Awesome! I just really wish I was in Madrid to celebrate 'cause my grandmother called me from there and she told me there were firecrackers and people partying in the streets below her apartment. She held the phone out on the balcony and I could hear just pure chaos. It was beautiful chaos! Everyone must be drunk over there. Ahh, I miss it. But I'll be there in August. Which I am so totally psyched for. Eddie and I both are really happy. But he had to go to work right after the game so we just decided to party and celebrate tomorrow at my house. Woohoo :) He makes me feel good. Aaaaaaand the rain has stopped momentarily but a few minutes ago it was whipping through. I think even heard a tree fall in the backyard 'cause the wind was pretty rough too. At least the fire ban is lifted and I can have bonfires again. Hahaha. The humidity sucks though. That's why soccer practice kills me.

  • I'm enjoying this idea...kinda

by nuclearnatalie on June 29, 2008
The whole journal thing. It's great fun to read what other people have posted as well. Many of you out there could be wonderful lyric writers! I encourage you to consider and maybe even pursue that future. Anyways, I was feeling much better today than I had been feeling yesterday, maybe because my headache wasn't as intense today. I only took two pills today and I feel better already! My mother pointed out my extreme change from bawling to bubbly. I suppose it is because I got to see Eddie today while he was at his fundraiser. I just stopped by to give him this friendship bracelet I made him. It's in red and yellow because those are Spain's colors and we share that preference of Euro 2008 (which, by the way, finals are tomorrow!!). He seemed like he really appreciated it. Score! I also had a fundraiser which was like, 20 miles away selling fireworks for the high school soccer team. Uh, hello, we have firework tents within three miles of my house that I would be delighted to go to instead of off in the boondocks, where nobody supports your school team. You're in a different city, that's why. Haha. I hope we get new uniforms next year. My mother is leaving to go to Miami tomorrow on a business trip tomorrow morning, which means we weren't going to be able to make it to mass tomorrow morning. So we decided to attend 4:00 mass today, which I think was a grand choice (it gave me an excuse to leave that lame fireworks tent hehe). However, I did doze off while Father was speaking, something about not worrying about the future and just putting it in God's hands...to have faith in Him. It's become increasingly difficult for me to comprehend that, since there is a lot of thinking I've been doing about the future. Especially since it's Eddie's senior year next year and blah blah blah. Things are getting better though. I'll keep praying for faith, 'cause I know God will give me faith when I ask for it. Or I could just take a sip from that water bottle that Zach Dawson gave me. Hahaha.

  • Tuesday night at The Red Door

by nuclearnatalie on June 27, 2008
It's been a while since I've been to a show, so I was totally psyched to go to this one, especially since it was all Christian metal/screamo bands. I went to Scream The Prayer and I can honestly say it was one of the greatest experiences I've had in numerous months or years even. The thing about this show that made me so elated was that all the bands were sending out the same message: to have faith in God. My favorite band, hands down, was Akissforjersey, and let me tell you, the Holy Spirit was definitely sent upon me during the time they played. That is definite music for the soul! After they played Zach said a few words about our Lord and I just felt so joyful to know that one of my favorite bands has the same interest in God as I do. We share the same love for God. It's incredible the feeling you get when you realize that. Then watching War of Ages play, I notice Zach Dawson behind me and my friend Eddie insists that I meet him and get my picture taken with him. Being the shy person that I am, I kept saying "No, no that's okay" but he nudged me over and I got soooo excited to meet him. He's a really nice guy! The picture I took with him now hangs in my room on the wall. We both look very happy. It makes me smile everytime I look at it. The thing about Zach is that he spreads the Word of God through example. Doing small things like tossing me a water bottle and selling me a t-shirt for $12 instead of $15. He's so great! I'll never forget it. I appreciate their music even more now that I actually know the people.
