[fifteen] current song: Dashboard Confessional - Stolen current mood: not too shabby Tomorrow's my last day of work. :) Then I get about a week before I have to leave for school again. Crap, I need to pack soon...... I went to a friend's wedding reception on Saturday. It was great, but I got really depressed. See, growing up I just figured I would be married when I was 20 or 21. It was just going to happen that way. Of course I thought that...when my parents were married my mom was 19 and my dad was 18 - a year after they graduated HS. They've been happily married for 30 years now. It's perfect. Now I'm turning 21 in less than 4 months, completely single, haven't even had a date in 6 months, and I realize that it's not going to happen now. I have no idea what to do with my life. Yes, I want to finish college and get my degree, but I always figured I'd be married when I graduated and therefore, not have to use it because I'd start having babies. (I want to be a mommy so bad!) Anyways, my friend who just got married is younger than me. She's just barely turned 19 this year. They met, dated, fell in love, were engaged just 2 months after the first date, and married 4 months later. Needless to say, I was really upset that night after getting home. What am I supposed to do with my life if I graduate single? I never thought about that possibility before. Never. On to happier stuff...I'm probably going to go to Bumbershoot this weekend!!! For those of you who don't know... Bumbershoot is a 3-day music & arts festival in Seattle. It's amazing. Some of the bands that are going to be there: *Paramore *The Offspring Beck *Death Cab For Cutie Nada Surf *Flobots *Barcelona Stone Temple Pilots Bedouin Soundclash M Ward Minus the Bear Scary Kids Scaring Kids The Fall of Troy Anti-Flag Throw Me The Statue Aiden *=definitely going to see (if we get to the stage in time to get a place) We're going to have to choose between Beck and Nada Surf though, because they're on at the same time on different stages (they have several stages with music all at once in different sections of the area). You can be guaranteed I'll be taking mucho pictures. So maybe I'll post the link on when I upload them to flickr. :D My new favorite quote (from 21): "Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery. It's all what you do in the moment."

[fourteen] current song: CIWWAF - The Curse of Curves current mood: happy It seems like everyone's doing this ColorQuiz...well, I did too. Hehe. :) It was also, freakishly true.... It said something to the effect of how I feel I'm unable to reach the things I really want, so I try to find satisfaction in the meaningless things? I don't remember how it was worded, but SO TRUE. And something else that I think was basically telling me that I'm too restrained from doing anything sexual, so then I have a desire for it more, but I still don't....idk...but it sounded true when I read it. ColorQuiz.com Alyssa took the free ColorQuiz.com personality test!

[thirteen] current song: Aimee Mann - Pavlov's Bell current mood: neutral Last week I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. It was really good, although at the end I was very mad. Lena picked the wrong man! Grrrrr. I guess I'll take him. ;) But in the theater, every single preview I saw, I wanted to see the movie. That almost NEVER happens. I saw trailers for: Twilight: I'm VERY excited for this. November 21st!!! HSM 3: Go ahead and laugh. But there's nothing wrong with a feel good kid's musical. Although I hate Vanessa Hudgens. Zac Efron is actually my age and a hottie...when he's not being Troy. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Now coming out Summer 2009. It looks fantastic!! :) Nights in Rodanthe: The new Nicholas Sparks creation coming to the big screen! Richard Gere, Diane Lane, with a bit of Christopher Meloni. Sounds like a winner to me! The House Bunny: I want to see this so bad! Anna Farris is so hilarious. Until next time...

[eleven] current song:I have a constant string of random songs swimming in my head right now current mood: meh I went to the eye doctor this morning...because I needed more contacts, and my prescription changed...but just a little. I used to have the same in both eye, but now it's different. For my left eye: -5.50 For my right eye: -5.25 And I ran out a while ago, so I've been wearing my glasses for a couple weeks...I'm so not used to wearing contacts again. I've got this horrible headache. But I don't want to take them out because I see better. So I just took some extra strength Tylenol I finally finished Breaking Dawn yesterday. Phew. Took me a while. But it was good! I might have to read it again. My friend loved it way more than me so now I feel weird. I don't know. I didn't not like it. It was really really good, I don't know. My mom's reading it now. Maybe when I can actually talk to somebody about it, I'll be more into what happened in it. Driving back to work after my eye appt, I was listening to this awesome mix I made like, a year ago. Mmmmm. Love it. Some of the songs on it: Bowling For Soup - High School Never Ends "The whole damn world is just as obsessed with who's the best dressed and who's having sex" Rhianna - Unfaithful "I might as well take a gun and put it to his head Get it over with" American Hi-Fi - Geeks Get The Girls "Even losers can get lucky sometimes" My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade "Your misery and hate will kill us all" Fefe Dobson - Take Me Away "There's nowhere we can really be free Eveybody's watchin'" Linkin Park - What I've Done "Erase myself and let go of what I've done" Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend "Don't pretend I think you know I'm damn precious And hell yeah, I'm the motherfucking princess" Fall Out Boy - Saturday "I read about the afterlife But I never really lived more than an hour" Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape "Throw it away Forget yesterday" Cute Is What We Aim For - The Curse of Curves "I want someone provocative and talkative" Linkin Park - Bleed It Out "I've opened up these scars I'll make you face this" Plain White T's - Our Time Now "There will be no rules tonight If there were, we'd break them" This was kind of a meaningless post. Oh well. I had fun. :D

[ten] current song: (in my head): Everchanging - Rise Against current mood: happy Well, I'm happy becuase I just ate the best darn panini I've ever had in my entire life. YUM! But this journal is for different purposes... I don't normally respond to others' journals, but I feel like it right now. In response to nuclearnatalie's journal... First of all, I don't necessarily disagree with you on a lot of things. And I do believe you can get closer to God in just a week, because I've witnessed it several times, BUT... I can't believe that you actually stand by saying that you are closer to God than 99% of the population. How could you even know that when you probably haven't even come in contact with 1% of the Earth's population of people??? And I also think that's a little pessimistic, don't you? You actually believe that THAT many people aren't close to God? I think the real numbers would surprise you....not that you can even count that sort of thing. Religion and spirituality and someone's personal relationship with God is something too sacred (and personal) to measure or play around with, or diminish (no matter if you know the person or not). I also think that some of the people you would look at and make negative assumptions about, could be extremely spritual...just in a different way than you. Maybe even more.

[nine] current song: (In my head): Gone - Kelly Clarkson current modd: i'm doing alright. First of all, my plans for my friend's birthday fell through because she wasn't in town (which she wasn't planning on). But my brother was in town for the weekend so that was fun. He lives in Idaho, so I'll get to see him (and his wife and baby) a lot when I go back to school. :) I like reality/talent competition shows. NOT America's Got Talent though...I can't stand David Hasslehoff. *shudders* But American Idol is sweet, and some of my current joys: I survived a Japenese Game Show Wipeout Last Comic Standing. Oh man, I love LCS. My favorite (pretty much since the beginning) is Marcus. His bit last week was SO freaking funny, I started crying because I was laughing so hard. He better win. I don't understand how he wouldn't. Jeff was pretty funny too, though. He'd be my other pick. Shark Week is over. :( But I still have a couple of the shows on DVR. :) And, the biggest news from the weekend... BREAKING DAWN WAS RELEASED!!! I went to a midnight release party at a Barnes & Noble. It was really laid back and not too many people there, which I LOVED. And I got my book, which was the most important part. But there was so much family stuff going on the past couple days...I haven't finished it yet. I'm currently on like, page 554 or something. Only 200 pages yet!! Hopefully I'll finish tonight. I'm really liking it so far, but I've heard that lots of people didn't like it. So maybe something I haven't read is bad, or I don't know. But I'm staying optimistic. Edward. *SWOON* Plus, my mom can't read it until I'm done. Muahahaha. It's killing her when I'll read in front of her and make faces, laugh, or go "WHAT THE CRAP?!?" which I've done a couple times. :) Hope everyone's having a marvelous day. (It's sunny in Seattle - YAY! FINALLY!)

[eight] current song: (the one in my head): Lesser Things - Barcelona current mood: excited. Tonight I'm going out with my best friend for her birthday. Just gonna go hit our favorite improv comedy show in all of Seattle. They're incredible. Yay! Barcelona is probably my all-time favorite band. I've known them for almost 3 years now, and they are the coolest guys. I've been to every show they've had here this summer, so far. Seriously, check them out at www.wearebarcelona.com 10 Reasons I LOVE Barcelona: 1. I've seen them when they hadn't even picked a band name and were still playing those small, but packed, shows in coffee shops. They've come so far in such a small amount of time - it's amazing! 2. They are the nicest guys you will ever meet. 3. Their music doesn't get old. You can listen to it over and over again. 4. They make sure the shows at home in Seattle are the best. (I'm sure their shows around the US are fanastic too, I've just never been) 5. They are all very attractive. 6. Brian Fennell's voice sends me to heaven every time I hear it 7. Their faces light up like the 4th of July when they hear how loud the crowd is singing with them. 8. They pick amazing opening bands for their shows - ones that I instantly fall in love with that night 9. They give amazing post-show hugs! 10. Their songs are just so beautiful, they give me shivers. 10.5. When they're playing those shiver-worthy songs, they get so into it, I can't help but just keep staring at them the whole time. Today's going to be a good day.
