  • Today, Today

    by Kmsoj12 on January 29, 2008
    (15) My day today started with a bacon and cheese omelette. It actually looked like an omelette for once, and not scrambled eggs with bits of cheese in it (which still tastes good). Knowing that I had my bio exam, I decided to have a complete breakfast, it was great. Then I got on the bus. There's this kid at my school. I'm completely immature in saying this, I know, but generally, he annoys me...because of his face. Specifically...his mouth. He has huge lips, which he seems rarely capable of closing. So he looks kind of like a hamster, his upper lip jutting out, his lower lip hanging a bit, his teeth always exposed, not in a smile or grimmace, just...staring out. I have, on rare occasion, seen him close his mouth. I wish he'd do it more often. I don't know why. I do not know his name. I'll call him open-mouth-kid. The buses are either normal size, or they are articulated where I am, the articulated buses being basically the length of two busses. Today, I took the bus half an hour later than I usually do. It seems Open-Mouth-Kid decided to do this, too. Now, with the articualted buses, there are three doors. Usually, at major stops, they open all three, without asking for proof of purchase-bus tickets, transfers, bus pass-but it is assumed that if you have bus tickets, you should go through the front to get a transfer so if people check if you've paid or not. If it's not a major stop however, or if the bus isn't articulated, you aren't allowed to get on anywhere except the front door. So OMK (other way was too long) was standing at his stop, waiting for the articulated 8:00 bus to come to a complete stop at his not-major busstop. He sees someone get off the middle door and heads for it, instead of the front. The bus driver, however, doesn't let him through and starts closing the door. OMK gets a step in the door and steps up first however, but reallizes he can't push his way through, and ever-so-slowly falls backwards into the snowbank-losing his boot. No one helps him, we just watch, because we know what he was trying to do isn't allowed. He grabs his boot, but the door doesn't close, it stays open to the width of his boot. Then he walks, defeated, towards the front. I get up, and close the door. As I arrived at my second-last stop, there was a girl in a black and pink jacket. She was smiling. For about the ten minutes it took the next bus I had to take, she never stopped smiling. It was the kind of thing you see when someone laughs at something they think of...I found it somewhat different, though. She'd walk into the phone booth, look at the phone, and smile. Like she had planned some ingenious prank, or like the phone was a very well-told joke. I never understood what the joke was, and the bus came, and she got on the back as I got on the front. My exam wasn't too bad. Hopefully I did well. My warped logic is that if I get over 70%, I am better than the do-gooders; that's all I can ask. I went to starbucks, then got on the bus home. There was a man with a rosarie...it intrigued me. I'm not religious. I discovered Carla doesn't know what she wants to do with her life; this struck me as incredibly odd, as she is one of the most grade-driven people I know, even if not all the grades are earned, exactly. I'm curious what she'll go into. I'm going skating tomorrow. Should be pretty interesting, haven't gone in a while and my skates don't fit, which sucks, they're a bit small. I'll grin and bear it though, because I want beavertails. Today was quite eventful, much more than it seemed it would be at first. What a relief. Oh and Zaraiya, pretty poem, it's quite nice.

  • Hell

    by Kmsoj12 on January 28, 2008
A while ago, one of my coaches showed me a clipping in the newspaper that she'd had for a while...later I went to look for it on the internet, turns out some dumb shits have changed what it says every once in a while, but I believe this is the closest version possible...I dunno, I thought it was amusing. "The following is an actual question given on a Washington State University Student Chemistry mid-term. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct…… leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God." THE STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A"."

    (12) Second entry today...but the first one was more of a rant/trying to get info out. Now it's just blabbing...what a past time. So, if I JUST pass my bio exam on tuesday, I'll come out of the class with a 66%. If I get a 70.5, I'll come out of the class with a 70.5...Basically I have to get over 70% if I want a mark that I'll be happy with...but the more I study, the less I understand. The less I understand the more frustrated I get, the more frustrated, the more distracted...and here we are. Back on the internet after what, 15 minutes of spinning a disc on my finger and trying to get the information to pass through my ever-wandering brain... So now, to further prolong my procrastination... That video game that I mentioned in one of my previous notes. WHAT A GREAT GAME!!! haha. Probably one of my favourites...sadly enough. It's a skateboarding game...it's called "Disney Extreme Skate Adventure"...sounds soooo dumb but it's actually insane. Basically, there's a bunch of levels in it, you can either play them all as a human character (which you can customize, and the longer you play, the more clothes and accessories you can get for the characters) or, depending on the level, you can play as a disney cartoon character (the levels are from the movies, the characters correspond to the movies, etc.). It's a really simple game, but what I loved about it most was some of the songs on it-the soundtrack, for the most part, is great! Some of the songs I was introduced to were... Somewhere on Fullerton-Allister ~~Loved the energy in this song, and the melody, it's just so upbeat Sell Out-Reel Big Fish ~~Second-favourite song on it, again great energy, fast and upbeat The Energy-Audiovent ~~Good song, not as good as the other too though Live In Stereo-Newsboys ~~Sort of mellow but still sort of cheery, not bad. I often find that playing video games is a great way to find some cool music...oh, also watching popular shows usually works... I often watch Grey's Anatomy, but from the first episode, I knew that if it started getting boring, I'd watch it for the songs anyway. Some songs... Life is Short-Butterfly Boucher ~~LOVE this song, first episode I ever watched I heard it, and was hooked Breathe-Anna Nalick ~~Pretty great song, love the first and second verses especially. How We Operate-Gomez ~~At times the guitar makes it sound creepy, but a great song, I really like the lyrics. The Ocean-The Bravery ~~Beautiful, beautiful song...the lyrics are great. "I carry your image, always in my head/folded and yellowed and torn at the edge/and i've looked upon it for so many years/slowly, i'm losing your face" Suddenly I See-KT Tunstall ~~Good song when in a happy, optimistic mood I Hate Everyone-Get Set Go ~~AMAZING SONG, no matter the mood...if you're in a happy mood, it's great, sad, great, mad, great, sarcastic, still great! Basically, it's an upbeat song, the singer sounds happy while singing about how he hates everyone. Night Rocker-The Chalets ~~Good song, like the beat and the guitar, tune in general Ramalama (Bang Bang)-Roisin Murphy ~~Haha, this is a pretty funny song. No clear meaning whatsoever, just really...well, you'll have to listen to find out. Alright. Enough SM...to facebook?

    (11) I'm not sure if this link will work or not... http://hs.facebook.com/posted.php?id=8245094817# You'd probably have to have facebook. I couldn't find any other way to post it, though... I find it kind of disgusting that people should hate so much...I'm not even religious, at all, but man... If you are unable to access the page (probably due to not having facebook) but still want to hear it, google "shirley phelps podcast" or something...basically it's an interview by radio station Hot 99.5, and Shirley Phelps (daughter of Fred Phelps) and her family and "congregation"/"church" are going to protest at Heath Ledger's funeral, because he believed that there was nothing wrong with homosexuality...among other things she "thanks god for katrina and 9/11". I do not believe I am supporting her cause by posting the link... more just supporting those who oppose her...damn the host of the show is hilarious though, gotta love him for playing Elton John in the background... They also picket dead soldiers funerals, funerals of homosexuals...They say god hates Swedes, Canadians and Jews... "...two kinds of people walking the streets of this generation. Mostly doomed America-" "-No." "-But in this generation there are only two kinds of people that inhabit this world. You understand me? And God hates them both, and I'm gonna tell you what they are. You are either a filthy, practising pervert, or you are an enabler or their sin." "-Or a hater like you." "...Aha. No, you call us Servants of God-" "Why are you-Why are you and your family addicted to hatred?" "Excuse me-" "-Help me understand that, why are you addicted to hatred?" "Excuse me-" "His family has asked you-" "Do you want an answer or do you just want to hear yourself talk?" "No, I'll let you speak, Shirley" "Look dude, God hates f*gs-" "I told you, I told you do not use that language on this show." "Yeah. God hates f*gs." "Okay, well you're done, if you're gonna continue using that language on the show I'm gonna disconnect her from the show." (Dial Tone) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-STpW7jarrs There's this one too.

  • Biological Warefare

    by Kmsoj12 on January 25, 2008
    (10) 10th entry, woot...ha. I'm going to a party tonight. Gonna be pretty sick. Going shopping first though, which'll be fun...well, grocery shopping, but even grocery shopping can be great in hilarious company. Em's gonna be there, too. Haven't seen him in a while, and not complaining, but in truth he's been a tad annoying lately...so I have a mean plan. I woke up yesterday and my throat felt funny and this morning had the same thing, except my nose was a tad stuffed. I'm not sure if it's a cold or has something to do with my puffer, because occasionally my puffer irritates my throat...nonetheless I'm waging biological warfare on him just to get back to him, but if I'm sick, he won't know it because I'm gonna take sinus medication, just a tiny bit so it doesn't show. God, I'm a bitch haha. Oh well. I don't think he'll get sick anyway...I don't really care either, it's not like it would be a bad cold if he did, it'd be more of an inconvenience...which would make me laugh. Love you, Em haha :P

    (9) Fuck private journals, man. If you have something to say that you don't want to say out loud, use initials. If you don't have something to say that you can't say out loud period, write it on goddamn microsoft word and lock the document, or email yourself. It makes everyone else too curious!!! That is all. I once was a private journal-er too, I'll admit, but it ceases to be hipocrisy as I saw the error of my ways. Now that is all. Goodnight.

  • UF, Coffeelocker, Ich liebe Deutsch and the 90s

    by Kmsoj12 on January 23, 2008
    (8) Hold me now, I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinkin', maybe six feet ain't so far down... Ah, the days before Scott Stapp became a complete douche...hooray! Anyway...at the moment I'm pretty mellow. I'm going to UF early with Mat to work on some stuff today...hopefully will make some progress. I realized today my locker smells like coffee...you know you go to starbucks WAY too much when... I wanted to talk to RW today but people kept interupting us, then she left for the rest of the day haha...and i fucked up my guitar exam pretty bad, thinking that it said "name..." instead of "label..." so...yeah i lost marks for that no doubt...shitty. German was good though. Last day of German ever, I realized...dead depressing. Ich liebe Deutschklasse... what'll I do haha. A while ago I went into this huge nineties and early new millenium craze and downloaded a whole bunch of songs from then...thanks to the internet letting me find them, and internet streaming of a sick Toronto radio station (the Edge). I like it...better than the crap we have here...great alt rock/new age/whatever you want to call it rock stuff. The live streaming also sometimes loads a VERY fun game/past time...I thought it was an ad so didn't touch it at first, but then I realized it was a fun (and impossible) game. http://www.edge.ca/station/sp_player_faq.cfm Some of the songs from years ago that I downloaded were... (song/artist) Stupid Girl-Cold..............not a bad song...there's better though Think Twice-Eve 6......LOVE this song...mainly the melody of it but the message is nice too Fever for the Flava-Hot Action Cop........very dirty song...hilarious and amusing. I recommend the video...haha Rest of my Life-Unwritten Law.........Found this one by accident actually, I'd never heard it before...love it though, the guitar in it is really pretty Stacy's Mom-Fountains of Wayne.......cuz who doesn't love stacy's mom?! Weak and Powerless-A Perfect Circle........not a bad song, meh Fall Back Down-Rancid........Great, upbeat song. Found this one through the Edge...love the chorus. Kryptonite-Three Doors Down.....always loved the lyrics and guitar to this one. American Psycho-Treble Charger......just for the novelty, really...simple guitar, but fun to play Boys of Summer-The Ataris......great cover song. Arials-SOAD........decent song, nice riffs Drive-Incubus.......Good song, nice guitar, good lyrics. The Energy-Audiovent......I didn't even KNOW that this song was old, let alone mainstream...I found it through an AWESOME video game that I'll have to talk about some other time. Now that You're Leaving-Not By Choice.....Love the song, love the guitar, just the energy of this song...gets me pumped...even if the song's not overly happy haha. Swing, Swing-AAR.....pretty good song, always liked it. I Hate Everything About You-Three Days Grace.....One of the VERY FEW TDR songs that I like... I HATE their new stuff... wayyy over-glorified and over-played, in my opinion. Get Loose-The Salads.....greaaaaaat pump-up song...impossible to sing to. haha. Hands Down-Dashboard Confessional.....Glad I found this one, never knew what it was called...really like the guitar and the melody of it...the lyrics, not quite as good, but not bad. Karma Police-Radiohead.....yeah. Lyrics are great. Melody and guitar are too. Look Out Below-Closure......not bad, not bad... Cute Without the E-Taking Back Sunday.....I'd never heard this song before, but downloaded it anyway, I quite like it, great tune, lyrics aren't bad. Meet Virginia-Train.....I like the mellowness of this song Show Me How To Live-Audioslave.....I like it...yeah. Good Times-Finger Eleven.......Great Finger Eleven song. Love it...sooo much better than their newer crap, or what I've heard of it. p.s. "one thing" SUCKS (It was overplayed... otherwise maybe it wouldn't have such a bad name in my books. And paralyzer...you can't rhyme place with place with place...sorry) Broadway-GooGooDolls.....Only liked this song recently (like, three or less years ago), because I used to get offended back in 2000 at the line "see the young man sittin in the old man's bar, waitin for his turn to die" ...I was an odd kid. Great, beautiful song haha.

  • R.I.P., Germany '09, Twelve is Too Young

    by Kmsoj12 on January 23, 2008
    (7) So, apparently Heath Ledger is dead...woah, sure didn't see that one coming... Not that I knew him, obviously, or even that I was particularly familiar with his acting-I've seen one of his movies (Brothers Grimm) but it was pretty good. No doubt the damn media's hounding his house and every bit of what's left to piece it together...so we'll all know more soon, naturally. Media are vultures, hooray for the irony in the face of a dead man... So today I think I made the German teacher a bit sad, cuz I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to Germany next year...whatwith three upcoming Nationals within the next two years (or three depending on what adult team i join) to various places around the country, and possibly two Worlds championships, one in Vancouver and who knows where the other one will be... not to mention some day I have to figure out where I'm going in life...yayyy. I'd still like to go to Germany, though. Although it's an exchange trip. I'm afraid of people I don't know coming into my house...haha. My half-sister is twelve and saying she loves her boyfriend...oh lord, she's in for it. I suppose I shouldn't interfere, though...goooood luck, sis. I realized the other day she's the reason why I hate the grade nines and such girls who dress like whores so much...because I know she's had the same influences, and I don't want her to be caught up in that kind of bullshit. It's inevitable though, and it's frustrating. As long as she doesn't get into teenage pregnancy or drugs though, she should be fine, she's a good kid. Twelve year olds...what to do.

  • The Dancing Asian And The German Invasion

    by Kmsoj12 on January 19, 2008
    (6) I don't think I have much to say at the moment...we'll see where this goes Man, some people on here can be so...high-strung? Argument-hungry? Not sure of the word I'm looking for. I know for me, last year I sounded quite a lot like some people here...but if I met my last year's self, I also know I'd punch myself in the face :) If you live through it, believe it or not, you'll be just fine. It could take a while. You'll never believe me, and I don't understand, and you'll scoff at me. Sometimes it comes back. Most of the time though, you'll turn out just fine. Oh. One more thing. Someone cares. Always. Sometimes you don't know the person who cares. There's always someone, though. On another note. I discovered yesterday something very odd on my computer. I have an HP Pavilion a1110n...whatever that means. Anyway, I was looking for a movie-making application off the Start menu, and found this thing called "Microsoft Plus! Dancer LE". Basically, you click it, and it has two dancers to choose from, one couple and one asian girl...and then you start up media player or whatever, and the dancer starts to dance. However, it's not some animated dancer. You can tell it's a blue-screened dancer, an actual person...and it's hilarious!! The dancing is atrocious-although admittedly better than my own-but soo distracting. I guess I have more to say than I thought. Today our German class invaded the Spanish class...Frau had been showing us videos about food, and we knew that our neighbours the Spaniards were having a fiesta...so we went and ate their food. It was great. Kelly played the only "German" song she had, which was an english version of 99 luftballons (99 red balloons) GREAT song, by Goldfinger. Original by Nena, but MAN the guitar in the Goldfinger version is soooo gooooood... One of these days I'll learn how to play it, probably during exams-what else is there to do?? I have to fill out an application for Team Canada...it's pretty fun. I can't wait till tryouts... Even if I don't make it, it'll be a great experience, then in two years my chances will be even better. In guitar class I got a 98.7 on my summative...1.3% away haha. Tomorrow I'm going to watch UF in the dome with Heather... should be pretty fun. We're gonna party it up while the guys kill themselves doing fitness and scrimmages haha. I just typed out a list for Mat, all the past players that I know personally who made team canada...and man, thinking, am I as good as they were when they played? Damnnn. I don't think so though. I'd better stop before this gets any longer...I'll continue some other day.
