Unwound was a noise rock band based in Tumwater. Formed in 1991, the band consisted of Justin Trosper(vocals, guitar, songwriting), Vern Rumsey (bass), and Brandt Sandeno (drums). Unwound's main influences included Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Wipers, Black Flag, Can, Mission of Burma, Hüsker Dü, Nation of Ulysses, Flipper, and Gang Of Four. Unwound's early work was characterized by intense vocals, jagged guitar lines, and more complex drumming than the band's peers. In 2001, the band released their first double album and last album as a group, Leaves Turn Inside You. Unwound broke up in 2002. -Sputnikmusic.com
