Please don't say I love you
Those words touch me much too deeply
They make my core tremble
Don't think you realize the effect you have over me
And please don't look at me like that
It just makes me want to make you near me always
And please don't kiss me so sweet
It makes me crave a thousand kisses to follow
And please touch me like that
Makes every other embrace seem pale and' shallow
And please don't come so close
It just makes me want to make you near me always

Please don't bring me flowers
They only whisper the sweet things you say
And don't try to understand me
Your hands already know too much anyways
Makes me want to make you near me always

And when you look in my eyes
Please know my heart is in your hands
It's nothing that I understand
But in your arms you have complete power over me
So be gently if you please
'Cause your hands are in my hair
But my heart is in your teeth, babe
And it makes me want to make you near me always
Your hands are in my hair
But my heart is in your teeth, babe
And it makes me want to make you near me always
Want to be near you always
Want to be near you always
Want to be near you always

oh my goodness ... listen to the live version of this song. this song means a lot to me - being terrified to let yourself fall in love and give yourself to someone so completely, being afraid to surrender, is something I am becoming more and more familiar with. giving yourself to someone is hard sometimes, even when that person seems totally worthy of your trust and devotion ... and that is what this song is about. thank you.

yes - sweet restraint - you know that if he just does that tiny little thing - like a small kiss or some flowers, you will be entirely swallowed up in love :) :) :)

    . . .

this song, to me, beautifully expresses the feeling you get when you're with that one person who makes you feel a way that nobody else can, and the amount of vulnerability that such a feeling gives one. that kind of vulnerability is hard to submit to.

    hope that made some sense.

It makes me think of a girl who is in love with a guy who she has been dating for some time, but he just wants to mess around and isn't interested in committment. She is telling him to back off, otherwise she will get too attached to him and get her heart broken.

This song is describes perfectly the mix of vulnerability and excitement in a girl's heart when shes completely in love. You want to give in but you're just so damn scared of getting hurt. This song reminds me of a physical relationship and she's scared to let it get to her emotionally.

"Don't try to understand me, your hands already know too much anyways"

"Your hands are in my hair but my heart is in your teeth"

Those two lines seem like she's phsyically involved with him but she's she scared to allow it to become more.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
