my searching eyes have never been so intrigued to see you. i guess you found a way to make ten minutes last forever. with each passing moment we drift further away...closer to our chosen paths. but i can't help remembering what was...what might have been. but i have been warned by those who have passed this way before, and to them i am grateful. and as for you i am also grateful...and i pray you find the peace you have been longing for.

it's already been said probably dozens of times, but this song is just so powerful. i remember first breaking up with my ex and just listening to this song on repeat and letting it encompass everything i was feeling. it's honestly one of the best songs to really let things go; your emotions, your built-up frustrations, and most importantly that person you love. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to stop loving them anymore, because love can also be best expressed during these silent gestures. "i pray you find the peace you have been longing for."

They may not know how much you love them, but at least you can come to terms with yourself.

"but i have been warned by those who have passed this way before, and to them i am grateful."

-Now how often do we truly heed these warnings? but most of the time we end up realizing for those people who stuck by us, or those that came into our lives at that perfect moment to pick us up. This song not only hopes for the best for that person who has drifted away, but it expresses the joy in having those who you still have. and to make sure you love them always because you never know when this song will be dedicated to them.

I love this song right now. I'm dealing with all of this. Me and my boyfriend broke up about a month ago. and Now he's pushing me further and further away. (while moving closer and closer to my best friend) I'm still in shock, and trying to figure out how a person can feel so strongly for another person and yet the next day completely change his feelings? Anyone with an answer please get back to me.

I love Hopesfall. They are amazing.

this song is about how you try to make a friendship after a relationship between a gf and bf and how it seems that their just falling further away by each passing day of silence.

this song is so much more than just the song itself, god if you have been in the place of what this describes you'll know that it's just the most painful thing your heart can take...

this is the most painful thing your heart can take... i'm going through it right now... me and my ex broke up and everything was going good until i found out that 3 days after we broke up, she was making out with some guy in a hot tub and it's gotten worse from there... we tried to be friends, but it just isn't working... we're just drifinting farther and farther apart...

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
