The rage in my eyes
could have compared to the eye of a sun
Then rain
took it's course through the hands of the Son
Repent for all time,
the world is at war leaving all
fault behind

So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

The stains in the sky
are there to remind us of man and his fight
When two worlds collide
one steals the life like a thief in the night
So look to the sky
He hold the keys for your life and mine

So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

Well, as though we rise
as the day breaks the dawn
and as the moon hides the sun
Oh, the sun
No more sorrow
All those crying days are gone
No more sorrow, now it's gone
Now it's gone
Now it's gone

So, is this the end for us my friend?

So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

So, is this the end for us my friend?

This one is about the time he had bad clams in Tiajuana and was suffering from an intense bout of diarreah.

He was, needless to say, bummed.(No pun intended)

He became close to the toilet and the soft paper on a roll used to wipe clean his bum.

When it inevitably ran out you can imagine how upset he was.

I personally wouldn't have written a song about it but what are you gonna do. The guys got a will of his own.

I guess it turned out alright, eventually SOMEONE must have rescued him.

He will always be a hero to me because he got through those trying times.

    Keep your chin up, Scott!!!

    Atta boy!!!!!

I think this song is talking about the Rapture from the Bible. In the Bible it talks about how when Jesus comes back to take his church that he will come like a thief in the night and he will descend from the sky.

    Song Meaning

"The rage in my eyes, could have compared to the eye of the sun"

This I believe is the anger in ones heart when one does not know where to turn in life.

"Then reign Took its course through the hands of the Son"

God reigns. Though the hands of the son part is talking about the iron nails hammered through the hands of Jesus in the ultimate sacrifice. (holy spirit, God the father, and the Son Jesus) Kind of like time is three things but one: Past, present, and future. Or like the dimensions of matter in space are 3D or in three directions: Length, width, and height.

"Revenge for all time The world lives at war leaving all hope behind"

This part I think is talking about how the world has always had problems and wars.

"So, Is this the end for us my friend? So, Is this the end for us my friend?"

This is one asking "is the end for us?" if there are so many problems.

"The stains in the sky Are there to remind us of man and his fight"

    A poetic kind of part.

"When two worlds collide One steals a life like a thief in the night"

    Talking about wars.

"So look to the sky He holds the keys for your life and mine"

Talking about God and how the keys are Jesus for no more sorrow.

"So, Is this the end for us my friend? So, Is this the end for us my friend? So, Is this the end for us my friend?"

Again: This is one asking "is the end for us?" if there are so many problems.

"For as the wind rides As the day breaks the dawn And as the moon hides the sun Oh, the sun No more sorrow All those crying days are gone No more sorrow, now it's gone Now it's gone Now it's gone"

This part I believe is talking about as life and things of the world carry on with both good and bad times, there is still hope and no more sorrow through Jesus.

This is the meaning because the acoustic version of this song sung by Creed had lyrics directly connected to what I described above.

An awesome and mind-blowing melodic song.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
