The day rolls in, the night rolls out
Desire rules without a doubt
The heart beats fast, you salivate
And when you come, it won't be late
I guess by now, you got the score
A little taste you want it more
From San Antone to Marrakesh
Yeah, when the night comes
Everybody's gotta have flesh
You got me all soakin' wet
Flesh - the only thing that's worth the sweat
From the day that Eve did Adam down to Romeo and Juliet
Everybody gotta have
The prince of lust has met his match
The witch has brewed her baddest batch
His sword is sharp and hard as stone
Her cauldron begs for one more bone
And so my love, this story's told
From modern times to days of old
From Boston, Mass to Bangladesh
Yeah, when the night comes
Everybody's gotta have
Flesh - it's got me all soaking wet
Flesh - the only thing that's worth the sweat, yeah
From the Mississippi River
To the highest mountain in Tibet
Everybody gotta have
Flesh - you got me all soakin' wet
Flesh - the only thing that's worth the sweat
Flesh - you got me all soakin' wet
Flesh - the only thing, the only thing, the only thing
From a Sufi in a Rickshaw to a bimbo in a pink Corvette
Everybody gotta have

The entire song is a satire aobut sex."The prince of lust has met his match, the wich has brewed her baddest batch. His sword is sharp and hard as stone, her cauldron begs for one more bone." He's basically saying that sex is like a universal language. :)) lol I love the part where he says, "the only thing thats worth the sweat." I mean, if you're gonna be doing a strenuous activity that makes you work hard and sweat, the only thing worth all that trouble is sex.

I agree with Acetica -- this song is definitely the statement that sex is the "universal language". Great lyrics and tune. My favourite line is the last verse.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
