You got the fire, baby, I got the heat, can you handle it?
I got the time, baby, you got the need, oh, surrender it
Oh, it's a passion crime with a danger sign, oh, can you handle it?

You're just another girl, I'm just another man
It's just another night
Whoa, yeah
Don't gimme love and affection or what you think it should be
Don't gimme love, the wrong reason, yeah, it don't matter to me

I got the heart, baby, you got the beat, take a chance on me
We got the night baby, we got the dream, oh, imagine it
Oh, it's a passion crime with a danger sign, oh, can you handle it?

You're just another girl, I'm just another man
It's just another night
Whoa, yeah
Don't gimme love and affection or what you think it should be
Don't gimme love, the wrong reason, yeah, it don't matter to me

I don't need your understandin'
Oh babe, can't you understand me
Come on try it and see

Oh, it's a passion play in a different way, oh, can you handle it yeah

You're just another girl, I'm just another man
It's just another night
Whoa, yeah
Don't gimme love and affection or what you think it should be
Don't gimme love, the wrong reason, yeah, it don't matter to me

I don't need your understandin'
Oh babe, can't you understand me?
I don't need it
Don't need your heart
I don't need no understandin'
(I don't need) no affection

Don't give me love, and affection
Don't gimme love, gimme what you got I don't need your

Give me all you got
I don't need the wrong reason
I don't need, I don't need, I don't need
I don't need (I don't need) your understanding
I don't need oh, oh
I don't need your love, and your affection

Honestly, I am listening to this song for the first time right now as I type. I mean, REALLY listening to it. And I've had the Hysteria album since its initial release. Amazing how many overlooked gems you can find on albums years later.

This is an OK song. Not the greatest.

What the hell is he talking about, though? He doesn't need her affection or her love? What is it he wants? Is this just a one-night stand sorta' thing? They're just "another man" and "another girl."

    Song Meaning

I think its a song about sex, about lust, about frustration. Simple as that.

Its similar to 'have you ever needed someone so bad', except this one is more, 'have you ever needed some sex so bad?'

It's a man with only one desire, sex. He doesn't want any talk, doesn't even want to speak, just fuck. No cuddling, no getting to know her thougts, just physical release with an incedibly attractive girl (groupie?).

The subject completely contradics with the beatiful metal ballad flavor to the music.

This is one of Leppard's most inspired pieces. This group was one of a kind and should be on everyone's playlists.

Thier massively talented musicianship and composing skills, and inspiration to endure thier tragedies in order to reach their dream is an awesome story.

Maybe i'm biased, I was in high school when Leppard made Pyromania and Hysteria.

    Song Meaning

I agree with Priaprism's interpretation. The guy just wants sex, does not want committment, love or affection, any of the deeper stuff.

Strange way to end an album. Hardly a ballad as most of you seem to be suggesting. More of an ant-ballad.

As with with other songs, again interesting to note that the love is between a man and girl, not a man and woman. For example also in Make Love Like A Man. They use it too often to not actually mean it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
