You've left me with nothing left but questions
You left me here not knowing who I am
You've left me so much fucking time to hate you
You left me with no choice but to die

Your voice whispers nearly all the time now
Reminding me just how worthless I am
Sometimes I just hear your laugh forever
I want you the fuck out of my head

You're inside my pain inside my sorrow
I die for one last moment inside you
I miss you so fucking bad I am you
Whose god will fucking save me now

It sounds like its about vampires to me "I run to seek my refuge from the light until the darkness once more falls upon me" He runs to find refuge or hide from the light, sunlight kills vampires. "Until the darkness once more falls upon me" Vampires are nocturnal, only come out during the night, and he says 'til the darkness once more falls upon me, meaning he is waiting for nightfall. He also says, "I'll kill again to live another night" Vampires die if they don't "feed" and in order to feed he needs to kill and that keeps him alive another night. "and a random, victim businessman will die" the person that he kills or "feeds" on.

Well, that is all I could get out of it, good song but the other version of the song is much better.

This really rocks, it related to my mood so much when I first heard it, not so much now, but still would be in a picks list from any of my fave bands.

Good song, one of the songs I'd want to play in my head if I wanted to kill someone.

Ive heard that this song is about Lestat the vampire from Anne Rice novels (Interview with a Vampire, etc)

I think the band confirmed this on their website years ago before they broke up.

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
