The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
I love your skin oh so white
I love your touch cold as ice
And I love every single tear you cry
I just love the way you´re losing your life
Oh my baby how beautiful you are
Oh my darling completely torn apart
You´re gone with the sin my baby and beautiful you are
So gone with the sin my darling
I adore the despair in your eyes
I worship your lips once red as wine
And I crave for your scent sending shivers down my spine
And I just love the way you´re running out of life
Oh my baby how beautiful you are
Oh my darling completely torn apart
You´re gone with the sin my baby and beautiful you are
So gone with the sin my darling
I love your touch cold as ice
And I love every single tear you cry
I just love the way you´re losing your life
Oh my baby how beautiful you are
Oh my darling completely torn apart
You´re gone with the sin my baby and beautiful you are
So gone with the sin my darling
I adore the despair in your eyes
I worship your lips once red as wine
And I crave for your scent sending shivers down my spine
And I just love the way you´re running out of life
Oh my baby how beautiful you are
Oh my darling completely torn apart
You´re gone with the sin my baby and beautiful you are
So gone with the sin my darling

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
this song is pretty easy to figure out, but i think hes saying how the girl in this song is so beautiful that she sinful and that he loves everything about her... including the sin...
This song is about Valo killing "her" with descriptive detail.
If you're interested i explained in detail below.

"I love your skin oh so white" - (She's dead in his arms admiring her beauty)
I love your touch cold as ice - (the feel of her lifeless body is cold)
And I love every single tear you cry - (He loved her misery, his torture, and still does)
I just love the way you're losing your life" - (He admires the way she is dying)

Ohohohohoh my Baby, how beautiful you are - (Describes her beauty)
Ohohohohoh my Darling, completely torn apart - (Describes her misery)
You're gone with the sin my Baby and beautiful you are
You're gone with the sin my Darling - ("You're gone with the sin" meaning HIS sin, of killing her.)

I adore the despair in your eyes - (Despair, emptiness, lifeless)
I worship your lips once red as wine - (Admires her beauty..)
I crave for your scent sending shivers down my spine - (He misses her presence)
I just love the way you're running out of life - (but he adores the way she ran out of life.. praising the way he killed her)

He loved her, and always will. The reasons to WHY he killed her are gone with her to the grave along with his sin.

Sorry, my comment wouldn't post so i randomly replied to you in order to post my interpretation of the song.
