It seems like everybody is lost, including me
I been ridin' around my city
My girl don't really know what to do with me

I'm trying to be a legend like Moss
I can see my name going down in the books
So many people out in the stands watching me

I kick it more than a soccer team
Keep it so tight I break the seams
She like the feeling when she sip the lean
I like the feeling when I'm in between
I'm really on a roll
I ride the wave
It's really up to God if I die today
So I don't really worry about too much
Except that I worry way too much

Why do I worry? Why do I worry when I know the story?
Can't really do much but follow the plan
I know it's not up to me and I can't control
I gotta let go
I gotta keep hope
I gotta keep hope
I gotta keep hope (x2)

So I'm just on my shit
I take care of what's mine
I will never ever quit
I'm up like the sunshine
Man I got what they want
And I got what they need
I been working all summer now it's time to plant my seed
I swear I'm a new breed
I'm not like these other guys
I can tell that they hate me for it, but to no surprise
I just keep it 100
You ain't really bout the beef
I'm a man on a mission
That's what they don't like to see

I try to go to sleep but I toss
Can't get no sleep
Been thinking about who I'm trying to be
Damn why they make it look so easy?

Everything comes with a cost
Ain't nothing free
Teach you a lil somethin' about life
I'm young, but I got my wisdom teeth

God calls the plays I'm just on the team
I try not to really care about the green
Cause I don't ever really wanna be a fiend
Can't tell you about all the shit that I've seen
That money turn you wicked so I let it go
You know I never cared for the hoes
I work for my women, I'm okay with that
Cause I know plenty niggas wanna lay with that

I'm tryna be patient
I'm tryna be patient
These niggas is ancient
I stay working hard
I know pretty soon my seed is gonna grow
I swear that I know
I swear that i know
I'm no average joe
I'm no average joe (x2)

So I'm just on my shit
I take care of what's mine
I will never ever quit
I'm up like the sunshine
Man I got what they want
And I got what they need
I been working all summer now it's time to plant my seed
I swear I'm a new breed
I'm not like these other guys
I can tell that they hate me for it, but to no surprise
I just keep it 100
You ain't really bout the beef
I'm a man on a mission
That's what they don't like to see

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
