I'm working on my backwards walk
Walking with no shoes or socks
And the time rewinds to the end of May
I wish we'd never met, then met today

I'm working on my faults and cracks
Filling in the blanks and gaps
And when I write them out they don't make sense
I need you to pencil in the rest

I'm working on drawing a straight line
And I'll draw until I get one right
And it's bold and dark girl, can't you see
I done drawn a line between you and me

I'm working on erasing you
Just don't have the proper tools
I get hammered, forget that you exist
There's no way that I'm forgetting this

I'm working hard on walking out
Shoes keep sticking to the ground
My clothes won't let me close the door
'Cause the trousers seem to love your floor

I been working on my backwards walk
There's nowhere else for me to go
Except back to you just one last time
Say yes before I change my mind

Say yes before I
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it, you're
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it, you're
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it, you're
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it
You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it, you're

    My Opinion

i made a couple of changes, including the last line and changing it to "trousers seem to love your floor", and "it's bold and dark girl can't you see?", and "blanks and gaps", and "the time rewinds to the end of May"

the suggested fourth line doesn't make sense to me, he definitely says "we"

anyway, love this song, some good wailing in it :) amazed there's no other comments!!

I love this song to death.

Made a change in the fourth line, he says "I wish we never met then met today".

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
