justin timberlake wrote this and its supposed to be about the abusive relationship she was in with chris brown. i have never been abused in my life but this song still gives me chills just because i can't imagine how horrible that would be. its also just a really beautiful song.
I'm don't think this song was meant by Justin to be interpreted literally as a recounting of Rihanna's abusive relationship with Chris Brown. However, listening to it it is hard not to visualize her bruised and bloody face as captured in the LAPD's evidence photo that was leaked shortly after she was assaulted.<br /> <br /> And yeah, it is a hauntingly beautiful song.
