This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Gone away, gone away
I miss you
Oh when will I see you again
Sitting here, sitting here
The car is idle
When you come back we'll get away
Then the alarm went off
Alarms went off, I heard it
I hope to god i don't hear gun shots
And the window pane explodes the way some violence sings
Pretty sirens in the distance closing in
Blending in with causalities shrieking
Casually i headed for the highway
Sold you out, sold you out
Told them all the things that you had done
Sold you out, sold you out
Tell me all the things that you have done
You were so devout, you were so committed to me
And then got away
I was right outside, born to drive away
Ready to split the money equally
I miss you
Oh when will I see you again
Sitting here, sitting here
The car is idle
When you come back we'll get away
Then the alarm went off
Alarms went off, I heard it
I hope to god i don't hear gun shots
And the window pane explodes the way some violence sings
Pretty sirens in the distance closing in
Blending in with causalities shrieking
Casually i headed for the highway
Sold you out, sold you out
Told them all the things that you had done
Sold you out, sold you out
Tell me all the things that you have done
You were so devout, you were so committed to me
And then got away
I was right outside, born to drive away
Ready to split the money equally

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
This is my favorite song on the album next to On Foreigner.
Literally it's about being a get-away driver in a robbery. Things go wrong on the inside. Alarms, explosions, casualties, violence. Instead of going inside to help his partner the driver flees and then eventually sells his accomplice out in order to protect himself.
Metaphorically this song is a reflection on a relationship gone bad. It's easy to point fingers once the relationship has fallen apart, but it takes two to make it work, just like the robbery scenario. I think this song is admitting that the other person put in just as much time and devotion to the relationship. The line, "Sold you out" is a way of saying that when things were at their worst, I was only looking out for myself.
I'm pretty sure you hit this one on the head!
I 2nd that!<br /> I just love how when he says you were so devout!
