I the Sun ov man
The offspring ov the stellar race
My halo fallen and crushed upon the earth
That I may bring balance to this world

I son ov perdition
From sheer nothingness transgressed
Unto the highest self, to utmost freedom
To explore the starry nature ov my rage

I pulse ov existence
The law ov nature undenied
I hold the torch ov Heraclites
So I can shake the earth and move the sun

I divine Iconoclast
Injecting chaos into my veins
With life accepted
With pain resurrected
Is the embrace ov God in man profound

The joy ov a dawn
The ecstasy ov dusk
Nourished have I this karmic flow
Where great above meets great below
Let it be written!
Let it be done!
Scattered I walk towards the fractured light

    Song Meaning

Direct quote from the album before the lyrics of Ov Fire and the Void:

"The divine is God's concern; the human, man's. My concern is neither the divine nor the human, not the true, good, just, free, etc., but solely what is mine, and it is not a general one, but is -- unique, as I am unique. Nothing is more to me than myself! - Max Stirner"

so basically now the song speaks for itself...like Nergal is repeating the word "I"... "I the Sun ov man I son ov perdition I pulse ov existence I divine Iconoclast"

Satan - an angel who fell from grace as he would not bow down to man as they were born of clay and he of fire - an evil to balance the good. Something like that anyways

its all boils down to faith all the logic in the world can not save me if i dont beleive that there is a a purpose. because there will always be something that can not be explained by logic. Satan and God are outdated terms. I cant close my eyes to the obvious - that we are the offspring of amebas. Whats more interesting is how did amebas come to exist. Here is where "god" and "satan" come into question. All life comes from the same source. Even if its from outer space. Adam and Eve are the most primordial and basic form of life. And everything about them is true. how they realized they are naked (the need to obscure the truth in order to survive) The need for mind games which have become more and more elaborate with the development of the brain (memory capacity) The more my memory can hold - the more elaborate mind games I can invent. Do I think there is no lie in the animal world? A certain type of fish has learned to do the following: Males will look at other males who are interested in certain females and will also be interested in that same female. Knowing that, some males would fake interest to lesser females who they dont really have interest for, so that other males will crowd around that female. Crows watch carefully as other crows sometimes hide their food and go steal it. Some crows learn to fake that they hide food to fool other crows and then go hide it else where. Of corse that only works on young and unexperienced crows. So do I see now? I am the offspring of amebas So why? Whats the purpose? Who created amebas? The lyrics are beautiful. But thats not Satan. Thats me. What is rage? When a baby kicks inside the womb is that not rage? A very basic and small form of rage? Where doesit come from? It comes because the baby can feel the mother's rage as small and faint as it may be. Rage, stress, tension - the same thing with different intensity, So do I see? The seeds of rage come from the mother (father). So in fact they come from the most basic life form. The first life form. But there is no "first" life form. Because the universe is infinite. Life has always existed. There have been billions of "big bang"s. And life has survived them all. If "god" created life, then isn't god also life? Who created god? No one. Rather, the entity I call "god" has always existed. It has no beginning or end. Its not "god". Its not something that creates, because if something creates then it must also have been created. So life was not created. It has existed always. Life and god are the same thing. But how can something be infinite. I want to imagine whats the purpose of life and why it exists but all logic leads me to the thought that life is infinite. If i try to imagine that its infinite, I cant. It only confuses me. How can life have no beginning? But at the same time it cant be finite. I cant imagine it all have a beginning, because the lack of anything before that beginning is just disturbing. Impossible. It can not be finite because the very thought of a beginning suggests that there was something before that. And also the thought of and end with nothing after that is just terrible. It makes me feel that I will cease to exist forever. That is horrible i cry. But then I realize I'm still alive and even that horrible thought didnt end my life, so it must not be true. If it was true then I would have reached the total truth and there would be no more meaning of life. But since I am still alive then that means life continues and that total truth is not true. So my logic cancels itself out. The only thing I have left is faith. I believe now.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
