Remember December Lyrics
Cool, first comment. Well, I think the lyrics are pretty self explanatory. This is about a girl/guy who loves someone who has an image to uphold. Hence the line,
'You say you wouldn't let them change your mind'.
The girl/guy is basically begging their significant other to not give into the pressure because their love is obviously something special or rather something worth fighting for. I'm also guessing that this couple's fondest memories together was in the month of December, hence the repetition of,
'Please remember, remember December'
On a speculation note, I think this may be about Joe Jonas. (Yes, I know he is with Camilla Belle), but besides that point I think it would be plausible. Fans have reported observing the two as 'extremely flirtatious' and around the time of December Joe/Demi appeared to be really close. Also, it makes sense because them being together would be difficult. They are both Disney stars and they have an age gap of 3 years, so it would be controversial (kind of like when Miley Cyrus went out with that underwear model). To add to that Joe is trying to be 'more grown up', so perhaps he wrote off their love as just friendship which would explain Demi's tweet that they were 'never gonna happen'.
Maybe I'm just being a fan girl, but that's my two cents.
I definately agree except for the joe jonas part It's definately about alex deleon (lead singer of The Cab) They broke up in early January

It's definitely about Alex Deleon of The Cab, whom she dated in December. They broke up In January. She said in her live chat a couple weeks ago when someone asked about the song that it was about "this persons friends or BAND MATES not wanting us to be together" or something to that effect.

Love this song! You can totally hear the Paramore influences in it too!
Demi Lovato didn't write this song, so I'm not sure if it is about Demi Lovato, per say.
...?
No, she definitely wrote this song. The only ones she didnt were 'got dynamite' and 'here we go again'

guys its not about alex deleon. its about Trace Cyrus from MetroStation. she's even said it in more than one interview. The other members of MetroStation were telling him to break up with her and he did. The rumors about them dating started in December. Thus the name REMEMBER DECEMBER
"You kiss me with those open eyes"...I love that freaking lyric. It's a metaphor to express just how uninterested this guy has become in her. All she wants is for him to remember how happy they used to be together.
This song annoys me.
Basically she's saying that at one time she and this guy had a good relationship. (Of course, this is only her POV). Now this guy is realising that she probably isn't good for him and he doesn't want to be with her anymore. His friends support his decision because they can see what he can't (which could possibly be that she's obsessive and potentially insane). Now she's being manipulative and saying,"We were so in love back then. Now you're listening to what they say. Don't go that way. Remember, remember December. Don't surrender." (Surrender to what? Good judgement?)
You can't build a relationship on memories. When it's time to move on, it's time to move on. I think the girl in this song needs to look at herself honestly, figure out why her relationship ended, and try to improve so the next guy doesn't leave her.
I don't like songs about on-off relationships where the girl is trying to convince the guy to give it another try. I'm sure anyone who has seen someone very hurt by an on-off relationship agrees with me.
