Battle of the minds
Cries below
Cries above
You must pick a side
Will you choose fear?
Will you choose love?

What does it look like
This orbital ball
From the fringes of the Milky Way?
What does it feel like
This orbital ball
On The fringes of the Milky Way?
Raining fla-fla-flavor
Icing fla-fla-flavor
Flavor love

Whose God then is God?
They all want jur-jurisdiction
In the book of Earth
Whose God spread fear?
Spread love?

What does it look like
This orbital ball
From the fringes of the Milky Way?
What does it feel like
This orbital ball
On the fringes of the Milky Way?
Raining fla-fla-flavor
Icing fla-fla-flavor
Flavor love

Turn up the frequency
What does it look like
This orbital ball
From the fringes of the Milky Way?
What does it feel like
This orbital ball
On the fringes of the Milky Way?
Raining fla-fla-flavor
Icing fla-fla-flavor
Spread that fla-fla-flavor
Flavor
Flavor
Flavor

This is the very first time a Tori Amos song has given me goosebumps since the release of Scarlet's Walk. Her voice is simply impecable here, production is perfection. I am so happy.

It seems like a commentary on the war between religions. Talking about choosing between a religion based on fear, and one on love. Then talking about the different religion's gods wanting jurisdiction on earth. I think the whole fear/love thing is meant to play with the listener's belief that religion spreads love.

This is a gorgeous song. I agree with stentorian. I've missed for a while being able to find Tori songs that can make me FEEL. What I've heard of the new album, she's going back to her roots, and that makes me very happy, indeed. Just beautiful.

    Gorgeous song. Classic Tori thoughts.

I always think about what this song is saying. There are so many battles going on here on earth everyday. It seems like such a big deal here on earth, especially battles of religious beliefs. But the real choice that matters most in this life, is the choice of fearing or loving things you don't understand.

Because any being looking at this planet from the Milky Way can only see how beautiful it looks. There is just so much beauty, so many different flavors to taste everywhere you look. (Raining Flavor)

Yes, i agree with all of you. At last Tori returned to her older, unique , cloudy sounds. I just love her new album. Hi to all, by the way, I am new here. Christos from Greece, glad to have found this place.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
