Sometimes I see your face looking at me
All your love and grace smiling at me
All the things we had and never understood
At times it cuts me up thinking of you
All the hope I've got wasted on you
All the talks we had never did no good

Oh maybe I don't need you to save me
I just want you to help me
'Cause you're keeping me up all night
I'm so tired of waiting
Waiting here for nothing
I should be up all night with you

Pour another glass
While I watch the bottle disappear
While I watch the morning light appear
Thinking about you

Oh maybe I don't need you to save me
I just want you to help me
'Cause you're keeping me up all night
I'm so tired of waiting
Waiting here for nothing
I should be up all night

Oh maybe I don't need you to save me
I just want you to help me
'Cause you're keeping me up all night
I'm so tired of waiting
Waiting here for nothing
I should be up all night with you

I met this girl last night and she said
"Why won't you marry me?"
He met this girl last night and she said
"Why won't you marry me?"

But I'm too young for that
Too dumb for that
Too broke for that
Too tired for that
Too proud for that
And I'm too gone for that
Would you like to come back to my flat?

Oh maybe I don't need you to save me
I just want you to help me
'Cause you're keeping me up all night
I'm so tired of waiting
Waiting here for nothing
I should be up all night

Oh maybe (oh maybe) I don't need you to save me (I don't need you to save me)
I just want you to help me (I just want you to help me)
'Cause you're keeping me up all night (Why don't you do that for me?)
I'm so tired of waiting
Waiting here for nothing
I should be up all night with you

Come on just say you'll stay

    My Interpretation

So I've just been through a really tough breakup with my, now ex, girlfriend. I started listening to loads of different music and interpreting so many to be about breakups and people wanting their ex back.

To me, this is that exact situation. In his dreams he is seeing all the memories of his previous relationship and how much he loved his ex smiling at him etc and it does "cut him up" when he realises it's no longer the same anymore. "All the things we had, but never understood" - maybe he was too stupid to realise that she was the girl for him and the "talks we had never did no good" was him trying to get back with her but she's moved on - I can certainly relate to this.

"I just want you to help me, cause you're keeping me up all night" - I often lie in bed for hours just wishing my ex would text me and "I'm so tired of waiting...for nothing",

As someone already pointed out, the 2nd verse regarding drinking into the very early mornings is typical of someone going through a hard and depressive time.

I'm unsure about the bridge but potentially could be him trying to pick up other people in a bar and realising that it's just a failed attempt of a rebound and realises that he's making a mistake and not over his ex fully.

I don't know, that's my interpretation and it speaks to me very clearly in that way. I'd be interested to hear if anyone agrees or disagrees with me! (Feel like a bloody English teacher!)

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
