In and out of relationships,
Finding someone to share a life with,
I am unwilling and I won't carry the load,
Fairy tales and the fantasies,
There is no prince coming to save me,
With the good clothes, I still end up alone, (until you came along)

(Chorus)
I never wanted to fall in love just for my own protection, (protection)
I wouldn't let my heart accept it, (accept it)
The way you touched me I got infected. (infected)x2
I made a promise to never fall so far that I kept it, (kept it)
From my heart it won't let me reject it, (reject it)
Because the way he kissed got me infected (with your love)

Now I'm right here watching you sleep,
Never thought that this would be me,
My heart's barely made it and now I'm in your control,
And when you hold tight, it just feels so right,
And I get butterflies when I meet your eyes,
Tell me how you got by, when I let no one inside,
And it caught me by surprise, when you came in and infected me.

(Chorus)

The symptoms are your body starts to weaken,
The side effects are you're made to far too deep in,
Then you'll deny what you feeling is the feeling,
You'll try to fight it but you're going to have to give in,
Whatever you had, you gave it to me,
Was there to love, but you went back to me,
Like the one who believes that I should be quarantined,
I was fine being blind but you made me see.

(Chorus)

Infected by...(x4)

someone asked me to find the lyrics to this song, and since this is a newer song, there was no posted lyrics. so i went ahead and did the best i can with the lyrics, and i absolutely loved the song after finishing writing down the lyrics.

the song to me is about not wanting to get hurt by love, maybe due to past experiences. but the problem with this is, love can happen at any time and any place, and you really can't deny how you feel if you start falling for someone.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
