Why'd I have to go a be a fool again
Why'd I have to go and make a big thing out of nothing
I didn't know what I had till you were gone
It was right in front of me all a long
And now those days are same old story
I'm felling more like betty glory

I had it all I threw it all aside
Thinking there was more that I needed to find
I had it all, baby
Till you went away
Blue sky, sunshine
And butterflies
Those were the conditions that I left behind
Why did it let it go away

I had it all

Where are all the fire works and gold I seek
I still haven't found the magic I was lookin' for that made me leave
I traded in my comfort zone
For empty nights of bein' a lone

I had it all I threw it all aside
Thinking there was more that I needed to find
I had it all, baby
Till you went away

Why did I believe that little voice
That led me down the path to this bad choice
Why don't I listen to the angels when they sing

I had it all I threw it all aside
Thinking there was more that I needed to find
I had it all, baby
'Till you went away
Blue sky sunshine
And butterflies
Those were the conditions that I left behind
Why did it let it go away?

Why'd I have to go and be a fool again?

if you can't find this song, it's on you tube... i'm pretty sure they haven't recorded it yet. great song all the same. i think this song pretty much speaks for its self

girl breaks up with guy because she thinks the grass is greener on the other side now she's lonely and trying to remember why she traded a good, comfortable relationship for the unknown. she has probably broken up with the guy more than once, and went back to him because she was lonely, but every time she goes back she gets restless again. she's frustrated because she still hasn't found the "magic she was looking for". probably the purpose of the break up

should she get back with him? clearly, she is miserable without him. Or should she be patient and have faith that she will find the magic she was looking for? Or was the magic there all along? and who is betty glory?

    I wish i knew.

(also: i really wish they didn't use the word butterflies in this song. reminds me of something natasha bedingfield would say. this song is better than that.)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
