Warum kanns nicht perfekt sein
So wie in einem Liebeslied
Oder so wie im Film sein
Wo der Boy vor dem Mädchen kniet
Und ihre Hand nimmt und
Ihr ganz tief in die Augen blickt
Einfach alles stimmt

Why can't it be perfect like in a love song or in a movie the boy is on his knees for the girl he grabs her hand and looks in her eyes everything's perfect nothing looks awkward candels are lightended, champagne's ready but that's not for real

why can't it be perfect look, the sky's starlit pour another jar of sparkling wine if that wasn't just a falling star but we don't wish for anything cause we're so happy nothing's weighty anymore love makes us blind for everything around us they're playing a song of Barry Manilow in the radio but unfortunately that's not real life

why can't it be perfect is that too much to ask why can't it be perfect why did we argue again why am i thinking of sex while you're being romantic your're talking about your ex while it's not advisible and they're playing a song of Klaus & Klaus in the radio but our love can even stand that

cause you take my hand and kiss me and i realize suddenly it was there all the time, i just didn't get it cause exactly that moment is perfect

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
