I came back from a late night
with my friends you were out of town.
So I took off my shoes and I took off my coat
and I took a look around.

Looked at all the book shelves
just like I like to do.
And I saw a little note
some other girl wrote to you.

It said "Baby, baby would you read a poem I picked for you?
I know you're sensitive but would you think about my boobs?"

Now what am I to do,
when I feel so much love for you?
I wish that I could be stronger
but I get scared that my love will not do.

Now I do not want to be that girl
that cries at every turn.
But I can't ignore the hurt
that makes me burn.

So please do be patient with me,
I know I can have a bit of jealousy.
But I promise you, I'll make it up to you in return.

So baby, baby would you read a poem I picked for you?
Would you think of me and not some other girls boobs?

Now what am I to do, when I feel so much love for you?
I wish that I could be stronger but I get scared
that my love will not do.
Yeah, I get scared that my love will not do.

Oh dear is that ^^ guy serious? cussing women!??! I love this song! It's funny and heartfelt! Priscilla Anh is one of the most talented girls living! She's got the best on stage persona and most effortless beautiful voice! So cute!!! I love all her little stories behind her songs.

    My Interpretation

I like this song, the only thing that ruined it for me was the mention of boob, that just made me laugh, when the rest of the song is actually quite heartfelt.

This woman is a gorgeous angel and to hear her singing such a heartfelt song and mentioning boobs like it's no big deal is perfectly amazing. And seriously? Boobs is not a cuss!

For some reason, it felt for a second like she was saying that she was ashamed for feeling jealous that he/she was thinking about another girl's boobs..which is completely ridiculous!

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
