Honesty, is better than putting you to sleep.
No one ever told me how many nights it would take to make it right.
You're on your own now.
And I hate the way you makes things complicated.

No matter where you are
I will be the one that
Catches you when you fall.
You wanted me to stay
But you're the one
Who went away
And I'm already gone.

It's the same day I left you,
The scenery is now a wreckage.
And all I remember is how to follow.
If we all settle down,
Just for a minute and think.
Maybe we're just giving ourselves out
'To broken hearts, city stars,
Starts and stops, over and over agains.'

Till I feel my heart in tact.
Beats and rests and this is only a test,
For You.

To realize how far we've been.
No one could tear us apart way back when.

20 more years till I feel my heart in tact.
20 more years till I feel my heart attack

the "secret" bit is something like this. I tried to figure it out. Correct me please!

las vegas is a risky town where lovers drink their whiskey down and sell themselves to sin but somewhere between cheap motels and overnight wedding bells

but oh can't you see what we had was great was more than a look in a magazine that you tried to emulate i hope you made enough room in that fashionized closet for the new fall season coming in

you wore me like a new summer style a praise of fashion and textile but you wore me out til i was no longer in they'll buy you up and you'll stay afloat but when your ship sinks they'll slit your fucking throat and you sold yourself to it and oh don't you see

but now your in that windy town, and the lights seem so much brighter now cause you sold yourself to soemthing new but you left someone who cared too much and our summer love here wasn't enough but i sold myself to you

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
