I'm so confused, I must be losing it, this can't be right
I never knew that you could choose to love someone
Then change your mind
So I just wonder why and was it something I said?

You tell me once, you tell me twice
You tell me three times more
Tell me everything I want to hear and nothing more
?Cause you know I am on your side no matter what you do

With every consequence it?s your defense on why it?s mine
And I could take it if I knew just why I waste my time with you
So I just have to find out

Was it something I said to you
And was it something we can't work through
And was it something I made you do
Or was that something you?

So let me ask you, I just have to now that you're not mine
Do you feel free, have what you need
Or do you still feel scared inside?
?Cause I am on the line and don't know what to do
No you know I am on the line so

Was it something I said to you
And was it something we can't work through
And was it something I made you do
Or was that something you?

Sometimes I'm bold and brash, and sometimes I'm prone to crash
And sometimes I say too much, and sometimes it?s not enough
But I?ll never hold you back from something you want so bad
Just tell me so I'm not sad, was it something I said?

Something I said to you
And was it something we can't work through
And was it something I made you do
Or was it something I said to you, you?
Was it something that we just can't work through?
Something, something, something you

haha Someone Like You comes on all the time at my job, Build A Bear. but legit, the best part of the song to me is:

And sometimes I'm bold and brash And sometimes I'm prone to crash And sometimes I say too much And sometimes it's not enough But I'll never hold you back From something you want so bad

They both love each other but suddenly out of nowhere the girl changes her minds and claims she doesn't love him anymore. He knows she couldn't have possibly fallen out of love with him for no reason. So he wonders if it was something that he said wrong. He says that no matter what happens, he's on her side so whatever it is that he said wrong, he didn't mean it the way that she took it. It almost seems as if she really does still love him, but she keeps claiming that she doesn't. This seems to have happened more than once before and he's getting tired of it. He keeps asking himself why he wastes his time with her. But he knows deep down that he would do anything for her and all he really wants is to work things out between them. Halfway through the song, you can tell that she ends up leaving him. Although they arent together, he wants to know if she still loves him. He wants to know if she's happier now, or if she is worse without him. He knows that he often does things wrong. Either by saying too much or not saying enough. But he just wants to know why she ended it. He needs closure.

this songs pretty self explanitory; the singers trying to state that this girl said she loved him and than all of a sudden changed hermind. and he's wondering if it was his fault, something he said, something he made her do... or ECT. he's confused and he wants her back.

Although it doesn't break down any new barriers, I think this song is #1. For once, i think the lyrics are better than the music behind it, and that is saying something for an Alt Rock track. Pretty straight forward, very relatable. I like the vocalists voice, think these guys got some real potential. Check out "Someone Like You," also by SafetySuit.

I can relate to this song... my girlfriend for a year said she had fallen out of love with me for some reason and i had no idea why? so i just respected her decision and lived with it but the start of the song " i never knew you could choose to love someoe then change your mind" so i can so totally relate to that.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
