Ooh

Two, three, four

Helpless, my eyes are bleeding from the fear that's inside
You sealed your demise when you took what was mine
Don't try and stop me from avenging this world
No voice to be heard

Waking the Demon
Where'd you run to?
Walking in shadows
Watch the blood flow

There's not much longer so don't try and fight
Your body's weakening, walk to the light
All those painful times, so alone, so ashamed
Well I'm not coming back, there's nothing to gain

Caution, there's just no limits to the boundaries you push
I've warned you but still you just fuck with my mind
There's no escape from this rage that I feel
Nothing is real

Waking the Demon
Where'd you run to?
Walking in shadows
Watch the blood flow

There's not much longer, so don't try and fight
Your body's weakening, walk to the light
All those painful times, so alone, so ashamed
I'm not coming back, there's nothing to gain

Breathe for me
Don't wake me from this slumber
Stay with me
Possession taking over

Breathe for me
Don't wake me from this slumber
Stay with me
Possession taking over

Whoa
Tread

Breathe for me
Don't wake me from this slumber
Stay with me
Possession taking over

Breathe for me
Don't wake me from this slumber
Stay with me
Possession taking over

Waking the Demon

This is my second favourite song from their new cd.(Favourite is Hearts Burst Into Fire) Amazing cd, by the way.

I read an interview with Matt Tuck that this song is about being bullied in school.

“It’s important to us that fans can make a connection with our songs,” says the front-man. “For example, ‘Waking The Demon’ is about being bullied at school – which is something that me and most of the boys went though. The track is about one day, just turning round, and deciding to not take it anymore. I’d hope that our fans can relate to that.”

    And yeah...lol.

I can relate to the song =D

He also said in that article that "It's about getting a revenge on a bully at school by slicing pieces off of him"

this is my first comment on this site, and bfmv is my fav band ever!!! =]

anyway, i think this song relates to the columbine shooting. a few kids get bullied or years until they cant take it anymore and load up on guns and go to their school. they kill the bulliues first and anyone who gets in their ways.

thats wat i think this song is about, wen people cant take the bullying anymore, they "wake the demon" and just lose it.

and the last line line of the chorus "im not coming bak theres nothing to gain" basicly says that after the little killing spree the person being bullied kills themselves hence the line "im not coming bak" beacuse they've killed so many people there's nothing left to gain.

and this actually happened during the culumbine high school shooting, after the kids were done they blew their brains out.

    its quite sad =[

    Song Meaning

I watched the music video very closely. For me i think it means, the guy that is getting bullied. He is counting down to the end of the month. So far the weeks straight he is counting down for the Full Moon. Every day he goes to school he gets bullied. The night he turns in to the demon he is getting revenge. He goes to the same spot and throwed a small dark blue ball at the door. He runs and the bully runs after him. He stops and gets to the ground of the woods, looks up and sees the shine and brightness of the full moon in his eyes. You pause the video when he is turning around in the demon form. He is no werewolf. The bully does get killed because if u look at the hands and the mouth of the demon it is all bloody. After that the bullys friend takes over and it goes down again untill the next full moon.

im not too good at figuring out what songs mean, but my personal take on it is simply: a couple breaks up and now that he is alone its bringing out the demon in him. he has nothing good to go back too. he's letting all the bad consume him. "Im not coming back, there's nothing to gain"

but who knows, like i said im not good at figuring out what they mean.

this song is one of the best on the CD. the music video is kick ass and i watched it over and over again. he is being picked on and counts down till the full moon and then finds the guy that is picking on him and turns into a demon and scares him. the guy eventually goes missing and the bully's friend is now taking over the other bully's job and starts bullying the boy and then the boy counts down till the next full moon. the video says it all...releasing demonic rage on those who have hurted you...one by one....probably the only song in the history of music I can relate to

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
