"To Talk to You" as written by and Polly Jean Harvey....
Oh, Grandmother
How I miss you
Under the earth
Wish I was with you

To talk to you
To talk to you

I found somebody
Tried to give myself to
Many a times
I wanted to talk to you

If I laid on the earth
Could you hear?

Oh, Grandmother
I?m so lonely
All my life

If I laid on the earth
Could you hear?
If I lay
Mary

General CommentPolly spent a lot of time with her grandmother just before her death. IIRC, it was an iTunes Exclusive interview that had this tidbit of information.

This whole album just blows me away. It's one of the most ghostly, spooky albums I've heard in a long time.

General CommentSo beautiful, such concrete imagery like lying on the grave and yet so childish and innocent. This song makes me choke up every time I hear it.

General CommentOne hell of a beautifully ghostly track, think this song is kinda obvious its about the death of a relative in the family in this case Polly's grandmother and missing them and having them there to talk to in time of wise words and advice. great song. Simple but powerful. As our many of the other songs on this new album.
