This might be my last chance
So maybe I should take it?
I just hope you're listening
To everything I'm saying

I miss the long drives, the car rides
The bad fights, the good times
The way you make me feel
Will never leave my mind

Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone
Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone

So quit your cryin'
And wipe the tears from your eyes
'Cause this is "See you later"
I'm not into goodbyes

Watch the brake lights
As I leave your drive-way
The warm nights will stay beside me
No matter where I go (no matter where I go)

Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone
Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone

So this might be my last chance
To wipe the tears from your eyes
'Cause this is "See you later"
I'm not into goodbyes

Watch the brake lights
As I leave your drive-way
The warm nights will stay beside me
No matter where I go

Think of you later in your empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone

Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone
Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone

Think of you later in my empty room
Where I, I will fall asleep alone

ambamboom I totally agree. This song brings tears to my eyes, i just want to cry because its so honest. I feel like maybe it has to do with him going on the road or after making a decisoin not to be with a girl he's trying to justify it to himself by saying this is for the best because its like i dont love her or i'm not going to be there for her. "‘Cause this is “see you later,” I’m not into goodbyes." That part sort of signifies that he needs to hold onto something from that relationship. This song always gets me because the worst way to end a really meaningful relationship is on good terms because its good but at the same time you hurt because the hurt is focused on the fact there's no way to blame anyone. It's just over.

    I love this song

    My Interpretation

This song makes me cry every time I hear it. It's so plain that both the singer and the girl he's singing to ("you") are still in love, but due to outside circumstances they can't be together. I think that the line that makes it so sad is the opening, "this might be my last chance, so maybe I should take it," because he's still so hopeful that they will one day be together, but it's pretty obvious that they probably won't be. The saddest love is when you know that you both love each other but can't do anything to pursue it :(

I really don't see it as a break-up song. I have to agree with the long distance comments. Look at the lyrics. "The way you make me feel". As in present tense. If it was for a break up I would assume they would have used made instead of make. Also "quit your crying and wipe the tears from your eyes. This is see you later, I'm not into goodbyes". He's coming back her or she to him. It's not goodbye. And I can relate to this. I'm in the Air Force, as is my husband. He's stationed half a country away from where I'm at.

man, i wish more people commented this song!! i NEED to know what it means.

well i think that this song is about someone who has to break up with their boyfriend/girlfriend, but wants the other person to know that they will never be far from their thoughts. idk if that's correct though. please, COMMENT!! =)

i think your pretty close. it is saying that he has to leave, he will miss her, no matter where he goes in the future, he will think of her. hes going to miss her but its going to be fine cause hes still there for her. he wont leave her side. they just cant be together i suppose. i think thats what it means. did that help?

i think it's that he can't be with this certain girl all the time, and he's always leaving her. so he's always falling asleep alone without her, and stuff such as so. but he'll never forget about her and will always think about her. personally, this is one of my favorites by every avenue. it's just too great for words.

oh and you guys who live in the US, go to every show of every band like Every Avenue or Mayday and what not. Because up here in Canada, they never come unless its for Warped Tour, and even then, sometimes they dont. Appreciate your local music ^_^

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
