Hey don't pay no mind,
We are the second, you're minutes behind
So you say, Yea I'm alright
You are the fortunate all the time
Yea, you are the fortunate...

I've been looking for a way out
Something that isn't so cruel
Well I'm a little tired, you see
Complacent and miserable
I think you're missing out
I think you're dumbing it down
You're past the point of holding up to your words,
There's no getting it by us now
So if it's OK by you,

Hey don't pay no mind,
We are the second, you're minutes behind
So you say, 'Yea I'm alright'
You are the fortunate all the time

So full of this adventure
The feelings insecure
It's so easy, push the pin, fake the tense
And give us nothing more
And if it's OK by you,

Hey don't pay no mind,
We are the second, you're minutes behind
So you say, Yea I'm alright
You are the fortunate all the time

And if it's the one thing
That I've been sure of,
Well its OK, I know you've got the time
If it's all one in the same thing
Then I've been waiting for the fallout with history
But it's got on for so long, for so long
That I don't think you'll ever be the same

Hey don't pay no mind,
We are the second, you're minutes behind
So you say, Yea I'm alright
You are the fortunate all the time

Hey don't pay no mind,
We are the second, you're minutes behind
So you say, Yea I'm alright
You are the fortunate all the time

Hey (don't pay no mind)
Heyo heyyy (we are the second, you're minutes behind)
Heyo heyo heyyyo (So you say, 'Yea I'm alright')
Heyo Heyo Heyo (You are the fortunate all the time)

I'm not all that impressed to be honest. I love "Lose It" but the two other songs on this EP sample aren't doing it for me at all. Sounds way too poppy in comparison to Chroma.

Looks like Cartel may be in for a sophomore slump.

I think this songs about a r.ship where they keep having arguments and the girl makes out as if shes the victim all the time when she isnt. He's sick and tired of it and her, and wants to get out.

:] i really love this song. I personally think the new CD is so much better than Chroma. Don't get me wrong, I loved Chroma. But I think they just kicked it up about 7 notches :]

I think this is one of my favorites off the new album. I think when it says "push the pin," it's PEN not PIN.

I think it's about like, someone who doesn't give enough credit to themself & so they fall behind; "Hey, don't pay no mind We are the second, You're minutes behind So you say, "yeah I'm alright" You are the fortunate, all the time"

"don't pay no mind" to what you could be doing "we are the second, you're minutes behind" I think that means like, you didn't do what you were supposed to so you fell behind, but "you are the fortunate all the time" you have the fortune of time, like, if you do what you're capable of then you'll be with the seconds.

There's more examples to support that in the song, I think. It's just what i think of it, anyway. Hahaha. I'm probably waaaay off =P

I think it's about procrastinating a bit, but then always finding an easy way out when there are only "seconds" left. Even when other people think you're completely screwed, you still have a fallback plan. Still, you know that you shouldn't do what you're doing, and after a while of procrastination, it sort of loses its touch, and it's not thrilling anymore, and just think it's "alright". However, other people still remind you how fortunate you are to have fast-thinking skills. I think that's it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
