Where does it hurt
Tell me 'cause I understand the words of a heart
Beating like winds in my hand
We can hide
We'll never lie
I'll always see into you

There's nothing wrong
With coming up empty and cold
Staying too long
And trying to change rocks into gold

I've been there too
I've wasted myself
And you were there for me
So whenever you crash, wherever you land
That's where I'll be

And for every endless midnight
There's a sky full of broken stars
And there'll always be a place for you, inside my arms

Where does it hurt?

When you open your heart
There's always so much to lose
So far to fall
And no where to go when it's true

But if you let me in, I won't let you down
Put your faith in me

'Cause whenever you crash, wherever you land, that's where I'll be
And for every endless midnight, there's a sky full of broken stars
And there'll always be a place for you, inside my arms
And there's a million streets to walk down, in this city of broken hearts
But there'll always be a place for you, inside my arms

Where does it hurt?
Where does it hurt?

And for every endless midnight, there's a sky full of broken stars
And there'll always be a place for you, inside my arms
And there's a million streets to walk down, in this city of broken hearts
But there'll always be a place for you, inside my arms

Where does it hurt?
Ooh, where does it hurt?
Where does it hurt?

i looooooooove this song! i think this song is a "thank u" to someone who has helped you or has been with u thru tough times in your life. and when the table gets turned and that someone is in pain, you feel the need to be there for them in return to their previous help. "where does it hurt?" she is kinda consoling the person and saying she can listen, she can understand and try to help

one of my favorites from instant star.

basically, something happened to her. she was sad, she was upset, she was lost. but then the person helped her through it. (i've been there too, i've wasted myself, and you were there for me).

and now the other person is the one who needs help, and she's saying, you were there for me and i'll be there for you. and the part where she says 'where does it hurt?' reminds me of a mom who is asking her kid where it hurts so that she'll be able to help the kid. and i take it as, like, she loves that person so much that she considers him a part of her family, because she cares for him. so she's asking 'where does it hurt' as an attempt to ease his pain.

brilliant song. whoever writes the songs for instant star are pretty insane writers, haha.

Great song. She's just telling someone that she knows they're hurting, she knows what it's like. And they can come to her for help and comfort.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
