Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh
Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh

Hey man
Tell me what were you thinking?
What the hell were you saying?
Oh, come on now, stop and think about it

Hey now
Maybe you should just listen
Maybe you should stop talking for a second
Shut up, listen to me

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious
And now you wonder why
You're the one alone

So don't apologize
You don't even realize
You screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone

Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh
Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh

Hey bro
I'm just tryin' to let you know
You really think that you're special
Oh, come on now, I've seen so much better

Hey there
Did you actually think that I cared?
Don't know if you want to go there
Oh, come on now, keep on, keep on dreamin?

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious
And now you wonder why
You're the one alone

So don't apologize
You don't even realize
You screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone

If you want to be my, uh, uh, oh
You know you can't play games
And you know what I mean
Sorry, but you don't get my, my-why-why-why

I'm gone, you're still dreaming
About me over and over and over and over again

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious
And now you wonder why
You're the one alone

So don't apologize
You don't even realize
You screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone

You're so obvious
You're so oblivious
And now you wonder why
You're the one alone

So don't apologize
You don't even realize
You screwed it up this time
Now you're the one alone

Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh
Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh
Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh
Uh, uh, oh, oh, oh
Alone

this is a catchy song but the lyrics in the last bridge. "if you want to be my uh uh oh" are terrible!

This reminds me of when I was stuck in a friendship but I kept hanging out in school with her because I was too afraid, She had these angry outbursts at me, made everything look like it was me, always me. One time she said “I don’t think you could handle a new beginning” “You can get a half hug by me” ends friendship then comes back and says I can be her friend now. reminds me of the lyrics “Did you actually think that I cared? Don’t know if you want to go there, oh c’mon now, keep on dreaming” So after these ignorant egoistic moments I already thoguht we weren’t friends, after all things she said but she still was with me so I thoguht I just hang out with her in school But seemed like she didn’t think I knew how she treated me When someone said are you friends again she said “We haven’t ended it we have just fighted” but I sat quiet and didn’t know what to do and she sure ended it a lot lol. Yelled at me for not coming to her party and I was surprised she didn’t know why. I never said anything bad to her. She did a lot. If you who reads this have similar situations I want u to know I know how much it hurts and when people don’t seem to think that person is like that but I’m sure u can get yourself out of it somehow! You don’t

Damn, Max Martin co-written this song... It's not that great by his standards.

Basically I think it's about the guy being a jerk or saying/doing something which hurt their relationship badly and he's too idiotic to even realize it, so she leaves him.

Perfect contrasting b-side to 'Girlfriend' in my opinion, lol. Although since song sounds alot better than girlfriend to me with the digital sounding effects and much stronger tune.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
