Light breaks through a crack in the shades
Starting off another day, it all feels the same
She takes in the morning air
A faint smile while she does her hair, she's unaware
She remarks, but she never complains
Her big dreams that are never in vain, never change

And I picture her in her car
Singing along to her favorite rock star
She's a star

Don't let it pull you down
Don't let it burn you out
You're so much stronger than you know

Down here time moves so slow
Life could pass you by and you wouldn't know, who wouldn't know
Things change, but they rarely do
You count the days as they barely move, well do what you have to

If you feel the sudden urge to escape
A fast car and your favorite mix tape
Runaway
If you feel that you need to cry
Run to these arms, they won't ask you why
Wipe your eyes

Don't let it pull you down
Don't let it burn you out
You're so much stronger than you know
Don't let it pull you down
Don't let it burn you out
You're so much stronger than you know

So please don't go away
Say you'll stay with me
...
So please don't go away
Say you'll stay with me
Ooh Oh

Don't let it pull you down
Don't let it burn you out
You're so much stronger than you know
Don't let it pull you down
Don't let it burn you out
You're so much stronger than you know

So please don't go away
Say you'll stay with me

i like this version of the song more than i do the other.

"if you feel the sudden urge to escape a fast car and your favorite mix tape runaway

if you feel that you're needing to cry run to these arms they wont ask you why wipe your eyes"

has to be my favorite part of the entire song. it makes me want to melt into a mass of human + tears. personal reasons, but yeah. & i'm pretty sure the song is self-explanatory.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
