You scream don’t look, you scream don’t touch
What have they done? What have I not?
And every time I think about your voice I
Start to tremble, and my throats aching
And anytime you need a shoulder, I’m right here
You’ve just gotta find a way.

She sits alone, tries to adjust
She cries please let me go I won’t tell anyone
You scream don’t look, please god don’t touch

Oh god please help us, get her out of this

ok this is my best guess..... ok we all know its about rape right?.....well the song is called guys like u make us look bad.....in other words, the good guys look bad because of the bad guys.....thats why it says" what have they done?"....then it says" what have i not?"...in more other words (u can trust me).... thats also why it says, "And anytime you need a shoulder, I’m right here You’ve just gotta find a way."....a way to make it through....for her not to give up on life....and in the end of the song it says, "Oh god please help us, get her out of this "....in other words again, (for god to help us good guys to help those who are in pain from being raped/hurt).... for us to be by there side in time of need when crazy things like that happen to them and for them to trust us good guys....but how can a woman who just got raped by a man trust man?....see, this is what i feel it means peeps

um the lyrics are "she sits alone,TRIES TO ADJUST" not "tied to a chair"

here i found this from an interview:

Do you always conciously try to make your song lyrics reflective of that?

Craig: It varies. Sometimes we want to be very specific in our lyrics, other times, we don't. A song like "Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad" is pretty much about rape. It's about women, rape and trying to overcome it.

so dont tell me im an idiot.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
