Kiss me
Out of the bearded barley
Nightly
Beside the green green grass
Swing swing
Swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress

Oh, kiss me
Beneath the milky twilight
Lead me
Out on the moonlight floor
Lift up your open hand
And strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moons are sparkling
So kiss me

Kiss me
Down by the broken treehouse
Swing me
Apon its hanging tire
Bring bring
Bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map

Oh, kiss me
Beneath the milky twilight
Lead me
Out on the moonlight floor
Lift up your open hand
And strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moons are sparkling
So kiss me

Kiss me
Beneath the milky twilight
Lead me
Out on the moonlight floor
Lift up your open hand
And strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moons are sparkling
So kiss me
So kiss me
So kiss me
So kiss me

General CommentThis song is not covered by Avril. The version which people claim is her is the original artist,Sixpence None The Richer, singing it acoutic.

I don't know why people are confusing them as they sound nothing at all alike.

General CommentI'm praying that SammaeL is right and that Avril did not butcher a SNTR song.

General CommentShe did cover this song, and it appears on the album "From the Screen to Your Stereo Part II" by "New Found Glory". You can also see a video of her young self singing this song. She actually has a very nice voice singing this song, I wonder why she sings so plainly in most of the other songs.

Song FactThe hometown and high school where Leigh Nash and Matt Slocum went to school had some deep secrets. There was a nephew of a Waffen SS member in Leigh's first grade class! Within a mile of the high school where Leigh and Matt went a Nazi rocket scientist and his astronomer wife committed suicide in 1998. By the way the high school was home of the UNICORNS and still is heavy on whimsy.
If you can imagine Leigh and Matt occasionally in high school passing a house with a high cyclone fence mail box through it rumored to be an intelligence operatives house (rumor was correct) you get an appreciation for the whimy behind the song.
