Let's go

Tick-tock, I should've known the time was coming
Yeah, it's just like me to be kinda all or nothin'
I can't stop, try to catch me if you can
I was born on the run but I'll die holding your hands, yeah

The stars shine for the two of us (two of us)
So sweet and mysterious
Got a crush, and baby, truth or dare
Spin the bottle, I'll be waiting there, yeah

Kiss me just like the world is ending
Give me one last perfect memory
I don't want to say goodbye
Let's meet up after we die
So kiss me just like the world is ending

Kiss me just like the world is ending
Kiss me just like the world is ending

Hell yeah, I get caught up in the moment
All up in my feels, you're the one that controls it
On my last day, all I wanna do is
Look you in the eyes and fall asleep right next to you, yeah

The stars shine for the two of us
So sweet and mysterious
Got a crush, and baby, truth or dare
Spin the bottle, I'll be waiting there, yeah

Kiss me just like the world is ending
Give me one last perfect memory
I don't want to say goodbye
Let's meet up after we die
So kiss me just like the world is ending

Do you promise it's forever?
Will you meet me up in heaven?
Do you promise it's forever?
Will you meet me up in heaven?
Up in heaven, yeah

Kiss me just like the world is ending
Give me one last perfect memory
I don't want to say goodbye
Let's meet up after we die
So kiss me just like the world is ending

So kiss me just like the world is ending
Kiss me just like the world is ending

This song is not covered by Avril. The version which people claim is her is the original artist,Sixpence None The Richer, singing it acoutic.

I don't know why people are confusing them as they sound nothing at all alike.

I'm praying that SammaeL is right and that Avril did not butcher a SNTR song.

She did cover this song, and it appears on the album "From the Screen to Your Stereo Part II" by "New Found Glory". You can also see a video of her young self singing this song. She actually has a very nice voice singing this song, I wonder why she sings so plainly in most of the other songs.

    Song Fact

The hometown and high school where Leigh Nash and Matt Slocum went to school had some deep secrets. There was a nephew of a Waffen SS member in Leigh's first grade class! Within a mile of the high school where Leigh and Matt went a Nazi rocket scientist and his astronomer wife committed suicide in 1998. By the way the high school was home of the UNICORNS and still is heavy on whimsy.
If you can imagine Leigh and Matt occasionally in high school passing a house with a high cyclone fence mail box through it rumored to be an intelligence operatives house (rumor was correct) you get an appreciation for the whimy behind the song.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
