What is this game we're playing?
Should I stick around for more?
Snap your fingers I'll come running
Leave again when you're bored with me
I'll make it easy

Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me
My God I feel so small!
Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll let myself out

This facade that I'm stuck with
Has got me wondering
Just tell me how you want me
And I'll be naked stumbling
Just to get a reaction, any signs of love

Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me
My God I feel so small!
Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me

Bottle up your smile
And pour it in a cup
I'll be on my way
Once I sobered up

Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me

Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me

Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me
My God I feel so small!
Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll just cast shadows on your wall
Nevermind me, nevermind me
I'll let myself out

she realizes that the guy she's with is playing games and might never get serious; sort of a one-sided relationship. she wants to talk to him about it but you know, like he'd even care. she says "never mind me i'll just cast shadows on your wall" because she knows her emotions have little effect on him and she might as well keep it quiet because she'll desperately do anything for him. basically he's heartless and makes her feel small because he's using her "just tell me how you want me and i'll be naked stumbling just to get a reaction, any signs of love."-she has this thought process that maybe, if she keeps doing for him what he wants and if she loves him right, that somedays he'll love her back. never mind me.-you'll never take this relationship seriously

i'll let myself out -can't take feeling small any moreee.

I've never felt like a song described me perfectly in my entire life until I heard this song. At least when it comes to the opposite sex.

I think the meaning is really quite clear and indisputable.

The narrator is unsure as to whether or not her relationship with a certain man is romantic or not. She can't tell if he wants anything more than a friendship.

She expresses that she is wrapped around his finger - she will be wherever he wants her, whenever he wants her, and be out of his hair as soon as he seems tired of her until the next time.

The chorus speaks of how insignificant she feels, and her need to not be an inconvenience to him.

In the bridge, she eloquently explains how something as simple as his smile can make her feel totally intoxicated and in love with him.

    Plain, simple, beautiful.

this song completely sorts and defines my life. i think its about shes in love with a guy, and she'll be there whenever he wants her to be and be gone when he doesnt. but the problem is she doesnt know how he feels about her. and when she says 'never mind me' its like sarcastic like 'hi notice me'

    Oh God...i love this song

this song is just amazing for me...cuz u know, there are in life a few people that make you feel so small...cuz we love them, or cuz they intimidate you...it just makes u feel like crap...and if u see the video for this song...i think she feels the same way...this guy is just totaly messing around with her, and she feels so small, but so in love...yett when she says nevermind me, she's not saying "dont worry about me"...she's like saying "Hey, what about me, i'm here, care to take a look at me?!?!?!"

love this track to bits men... when i'm really low this is my theme track...just nevermind me...who am i anyway?!?!?

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
