"The Way We Were" as written by and Dallas Hendry/hora Smith....
We've fallen of grace again
Could be the beginning of the end
We stood by and watched the young walk away
Could not stay
I can't believe we'd give up so easy

Don't you miss the way we were?
Don't you wish we made that turn?

What we said was sometimes meant
Wasn't worth the breath that we spent
Even though I don't know how much we tried
Or even why, for all it's worth
It's not what we did and

Don't you miss the way we were?
Don't you wish we made that turn?

The best times are far gone
All that's left is to forget
Still I seem to hang on
But indeed it's not over!

Don't you miss the way we were?
Don't you wish we made that turn?
Don't you miss the way we were?
Don't you miss the way we were?

General CommentCan't believe no one commented on this one.

Seems like a relationship gone bad and he really doesn't want it to end. He's questioning and trying to make her think of the good times, but it's not working..

""The best times are far gone
All that's left is to forget
Still I seem to hang on
    But indeed it's not over!
    ""

He's hanging on and it's not over because in his heart they will always be together, even if they aren't together in real life.

    Any other thoughts?

General CommentI think it's two very strong people in the relationship with a lot of pride. In my opinion, it seems like something happened that has made them start fighting constantly and neither will back down bc of too much stubborn ass pride. The writer is starting to notice that with the constant fighting they are falling out of grace with each other and this could be the beginning of the end of the relationship, and bc of stubborn ass pride from these two strong people when one walks away the other won't chase them - "watched the other walk away, could not stay, I can't believe we give up so easy". Now when she walks away he really misses the love in the relationship, "don't you miss the way we were, don't you wish we had made that turn( one of them turning around from walking away)." and the writer knows when they would talk shit to each other sometimes it was meant when said, but it was never worth saying. And looking back on the fighting, he doesn't know how hard he really tried to save the relationship and he doesn't know how much she tried but he does know they don't deserve to lose each other.

Pretty much, they started playing stupid games with their emotions and they really wish they could go back to the way they were.
That is what I think anyway lol.
