Somethings wrong with you I see
Your eyes have turned a shade of empty
In my arms you pushed aside
Wondered if you'd ever be
Alright again and try to fix
Whats goin on inside of you

There's no reason to be afraid
You cant blame yourself
For the worlds mistakes
Now its time to let it go

Look out, look in and realize
You always get so carried away
Theres times and things you can never change
Dont get so carried away

Even now you hide behind
Those imitations in your mind
Through every act
From the middle to the end
You have played the part as your only friend
You steal the rush
From the hands of time
And they'll never to catch up with you

There's no reason to be afraid
You cant blame youself
For the worlds mistakes
Now its time to let it go

Look out, look in and realize
You always get so carried away
Theres times and things you can never change
Dont get so carried away

You need to find out whats for real
And know how i wish you would understand
And listen

Look out, look in and realize
You always get so carried away
Look out, look in and realize
You always get so carried away
Theres times and things you can never change
Dont get so carried away
Look out, look in and realize
You always get so carried away
Theres time and things you can never change
Dont get so carried away

    Memory

This song affects me in a personal way because there is a traumatic experience in my past that I haven't yet fully recovered from. I've moved on from it, but the memories still linger in the back of my mind at times.

Anyway.. I think the song is about the process of getting over an experience that overpowers the person in a way that they get "carried away" with their emotions revolving around that period. Brent is telling that person to not let it overcome him/her. He's trying to get through to the person by letting them know that he's there and willing to help in any way he can, even though she is shutting him out ("in my arms you pushed aside"). And by saying "you can't blame yourself for the world's mistakes" he's saying that she shouldn't blame herself for the often-cruel nature of people. (IE: whoever hurt her in the first place) "There's times and things you can never change, don't get so carried away": Simply put, you shouldn't dwell on things that you have no possible chance of changing.. all you can do is let it go.

That's my take on it. This song always comforts me when I feel overpowered by the emotions and memories from that experience. I just love the lyrics.. it's so sweet and reassuring.. there's a guy like this who I've pushed away for quite some time and this song reminds me so much of him and what he says to me all the time.

I think this song is about someone who faces alot of troubles, and it's tearing him apart..

"theres no reason to be afraid you can't blame yourself for the worlds mistakes now its time to let it go"

n everytime he can't face it he feels insecure, and then starts blaming himself for everything .

"look out look in and realize you allways get so carried away"

i like this part as he's telling him to notice how people are living and they can overcome their problems .. unlike him he gets too emotional about it and desperate so, he's telling him to learn to let go and cope with his or ppl's faults that is affecting him somehow..

"even now you hide behind thouse imatations in your mind through every act from the middle to the end"

I'm not sure about this.. but I think that person is imagining the situation in his mind in a different way that makes it even more difficult for him.

"you have paved the part as your only friend steal the rush from the hands of time and they'll never catch up with you"

I can't figure it out.. but maybe it means that he's taking too long to recover

Finally, "you need to find out whats for real and oh how I wish you would understand and listen"

He's telling him to wake up.. and face the real life ..and instead of losing hope ..he can learn from his past

Hope that made sense =) wud like to hear other opinions abt it ..

    My Interpretation

Great interpretations! For me. This song always reminds me of my best friend. He has seen the worst in people and still finds the beauty in them. He takes the world on his shoulders and thinks its his responsibility to police the assholes that give male-types a bad name. He feels guilty when any man anywhere does something shity. Its one of the reasons i love him, but sometimes i just feel like popping him in the head because he doesn't realize how spectacular he is while he's lumping himself in with those kinds of people. This is what I want to say to him sometimes.

Brent has said this song is about himself. He tries to take on so many things and he just needs to keep reminding himself that he can't get carried away and can't fix everything.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
